1- The student teacher will remind the students about the addition and subtraction signs.

2- The teacher will remind the students that they have to share with their team or group.

3- The teacher will remind them about the classroom rules and she will do some strategies that they
know it such as ring the bill to get their attention immediately or remind them about the class dojo
points.

The student teacher will review about some doubles by using cubes and ask some students to
share with her.

She will introduce the lesson concept by saying “Today we are going to use the doubles that you
make to subtract”. She will use the data show to display page 61 and explain the lesson.
She will use double to find the difference for example 4+4=8 to 8-4=4 using cubes and explain
what the difference is and what it means to subtract?

The ST will ask the students to go to their groups and open page 62 to start solving the
questions. When the students answering the questions on page 62,63 and 64, the ST will go
around them and observe if there are some students need scaffolding or if there is a
misconception they have.

Close (wrap up, discussion, brief review activity or assessment): 5 minutes

The ST will ask the students to work in groups to create doubles and find the difference using cubes
and blank papers.
