waterworld Atlantis A (Dubhe B I) in 2168. Ten years later Vulcan Colony 23 was established on the
fourth planet to ease population on the Vulcan homeworld. Ceta(Dubhe A II) was colonized by the
Centaurans in 2189 and Tellarite miners began mining the asteroid belt and established Thruspace Inc.
on fifth planet of Dubhe A in 2191. Han Kao(Dubhe A VI) and Liaoning(Dubhe A VII) were colonized
by Asian fanatics fleeing Earth in 2199. The discovery of a sentient methane-breathing powercats on the
fourth planet out from Dubhe B caused quiet a stir and the Federation immediately placed the pre-
technological planet, called Nidor, in Protected status in 2173. Atlantis B(Dubhe B II) was colonized in
2220 by natives of an Earth nation called England and Atlantis C(Dubhe B III) was colonized by natives
from a Earth province called Texas in 2226. Thirteen years later, major deposits of dilithium crystals
were discovered on Atlantis C, causing a major crisis during which the Federation was barely able to
contain hostilities in the system. The three waterworlds, Atlantis A/B/C founded the Techno-Group the
same year, creating a very profitable economic alliance. Later, the Dubhe System grew in importance
within the Federation as trade expanded with the Techno-Group. Other planets in the Dubhe System
have joined the Techno-Group but Han Kao and Liaoning were left out due to the poor performance of
their economies, and persistent rumors of Romulan trade with these two planets has never been
substantiated.
