Termination : The membrane application shall be terminated at 300mm above the ground level by
placing a termination aluminium bar. The terminated area shall be sealed and levelled with Nitomortar

Providing and applying Supercast SW 20 & Supercast SW X - water swellable-basic


polymer-hydrophilic waterstop at all construction joints, the swellable water bar shall have
unrestrained volumetric expansion up to 300%, Shore A hardness of 25 to 35, Hydrostatic
pressure resistance of 100 meters. The swellable water bar shall be fixed to the concrete
using a gun grade hydrophilic adhesive-SWX. following strictly the instruction as per
manufacture
Treating the Construction Joints :
Chase opening the Construction Joints by providing “ V ” groove, removing the dust and clean
the designated area following by providing chemical injection treatment in the form of pressure
grouting to the cold joint by injecting cement slurry mixed with grout admixture Cebex 100 @
225 gms. per bag of cement, in the required consistency through the pre fixed PVC nozzles in
the 18 mm dia holes, fixing of PVC nozzles with Renderoc Plug and final cutting the projected
nozzles and sealing off the PVC nozzles after the injection operation is over with Renderoc
plug, nonshrink rapid setting mortar compound, finishing, curing etc. as per manufacturers
specification and as directed.
Coving:
Providing and Appling at the junction of slab and vertical offsets with Cement Mortar 1:4 and
admixed with Nitobond SBR at dosage of 3L per bag of Cement at a size of 75 mm x 75 mm.
(Cement & Sand shall be supplied free of cost at the point of execution)
Bore Packing:
Preparing the inside surface of core and PVC by roughening using suitable file to get better
adhesion prior to packing works. Cleaning the surface by wire brushing followed water jet to
remove any laitance or loose flaky particles. Providing necessary formwork for packing the
bore using suitable arrangement (depending upon site conditions). Applying a coat of styrene-
butadiene based polymer coating using Nitobond SBR to enhance adhesion between the
packing material and other surfaces Packing the gap using non-shrink cement polymer based
grout using Conbextra GPi upto the surface of the bore whilst the Nitobond SBR is in tacky
state. The above analysis is based on assumption for 150mm diameter core with 110mm
diameter PVC for 5” thick slab only. Typical Properties Compressive strength at 28day as per
BS 1881 45N/mm2, completely as per the manufacturer’s Instruction.

Waterproof Coating: Brushbond RFX


Providing and applying two coats of Brushbond RFX of acrylic polymer modified cementitious
waterproof coating with Food grade certification over prepared surface. Removing all surface
laitance and contamination free from loose aggregate or other sharp protrusions with fairly
smooth finish by wire brush and grinding method and surface shall be damped with Water for
application of Brushbond RFX waterproof coating .Brushbond RFX shall contain a liquid
polymer component and a cementitious powder component, which shall be mixed as per
manufacturer’s instructions and applied over prepared concrete surface strictly maintaining
the coverage specified by the manufacturer. The applied material of Brushbond RFX should
have a Pull off adhesion of greater than 1N/mm2 as per ASTM-D4541 and static crack
accommodation of 1mm according to ASTM-C836. Complete as per the vendors methodology
approved by consultants / clients.
Protective layer(Horizontal ) :
Laying M20 grade screed concrete to required slope admix with integral waterproofing
compound Conplast WL of FOSROC make or Equivalent at the dosage of 125ml/bag of
cement over waterproofing layer to a minimum thickness of 50mm as per site requirement,
cost for labour charge.
Protection layer (Vertical):
Plastering with CM 1:4 admix with integral waterproofing compound Conplast WL of
FOSROC make or Equivalent at the dosage of 125ml/bag of cement over Waterproofing layer
to a minimum thickness of 18mm as per site requirement.
Antifungal, Hygiene Coating : Nitocote EP 405
Nitocote EP405. Over the Plastered surface the thoroughly mixed material should be applied
with a suitable stiff nylon type brush. The first coat must be firmly applied and be well
scrubbed into the surface, ensuring a uniform coating with a wet film thickness not less than
100 microns. The first coat should be allowed to become tack free before applying the second
coat. The second coat should be applied exactly as above, again achieving a wet fi lm
thickness not less than 100 microns. For ease of over coating, it is recommended that the first
coat be white and the second coat be blue, or vice – versa. For cold weather working, it is
recommended that Nitocote EP405 be stored in a heated building and removed immediately
before use, as workability deteriorates and curing times increase at lower temperatures.

micron per coat, but can be applied at greater thicknesses to suit exposure conditions. The
coating shall posess a high-build capability, to facilitate varying application thickness. It shall

coats, cures by reaction with atmospheric moisture to give a tough elastomeric waterproof membrane, Nitoproof
viscosity grade (approximately 600 poise) and has a 620% of elongation, Extensibility after heat aging (
-extended to 6.4mm without cracking): No cracking or tearing, Service temperature (continuous ambient): -40
supplied in a single grade to meet all site application methods and requirements. Shall be squeezee applicatio
1.3mm. Application and methods shall be as per the Instruction of Fosroc Specification.

Waterproofing System
Priming: Priming is not normally required on good quality concrete substrates. However, absorbent
surfaces such as porous concrete, sand/cement and cement boards will require sealing to prevent
absorption of Nitoproof 600 standard. This should be done using a 1:1 mixture of Nitoproof 600
standard and Nitoflor Sol. All metal and PVC surfaces should be cleaned and abraded before priming.
System: Providing and applying Nitoproof 600 Standard a single component pitch modified
polyurethane in two coats forming totally 1.3mm thickness cures by reaction with atmospheric
moisture to give a tough elastomeric waterproof membrane, Nitoproof 600 Standard is a medium
viscosity grade (approximately 600 poise) and has a 450% of elongation, Extensibility after heat aging
(min. requirement -extended to 6.4mm without cracking): No cracking or tearing, Service temperature

Protection Layer
Providing a Geotext fabric of 150GSM over the cured waterproofing membrane before going for a
Protection Screed.
Protection Layer (Horizontal) : Providing and laying min 50mm thick screed concrete of M20 grade
with optional to incorporating Polypropylene fibre as per manufacturer’s dosage and admixed with
water proofing compound Conplast WL (Integral waterproofing compound confirming to IS 2645) at a
dosage of 125 ml / bag of cement. Providing Grove Cutting at 4.0m C/C the joint size shall be 4mm x
10mm which shall be filled with Nitoseal PU all complete as per manufacture's specifications and

Protective Layer (Vertical): Providing and applying plastering with CM 1:4 mixed with Conplast WL at
the dosage of 125ml/bag of cement over waterproofing system to a minimum thickness of 18mm as

Parapet wall weatherproof Coating: Nitocote Wall Guard
Providing and applying Nitocote Wall guard Elastomeric & Decorative acrylic waterproofing coating for
exterior walls on the external vertical surfaces of Over Head water tank(available in Different RIL
shades). Applied at 110 micron dry film thickness in two coats as per manufacturer specification.
Coating shall be UV resistant, breathable & flexible having minimum 100% elongation when applied at
110 micron DFT. Nitocote Wall Guard is water based polymer coating composed of high quality acrylic
polymer, with weather resistant pigments, properly selected & graded fine fillers. It is used as a
waterproofing & decorative coating for protection of exterior walls of the buildings from heavy wind
driven rain.

7.00 OHT Waterproofing
7.01 Treating the Construction Joints :
Chase opening the Construction Joints by providing “ V ” groove, removing the dust and
clean the designated area following by providing chemical injection treatment in the form of
pressure grouting to the cold joint by injecting cement slurry mixed with grout admixture
Cebex 100 @ 225 gms.per bag of cement, in the required consistency through the pre fixed
7.02 PVC nozzles in the 18 mm dia holes, fixing of PVC nozzles with Renderoc Plug and final
cutting the projected nozzles and sealing off the PVC nozzles after the injection operation is
over with Renderoc plug, nonshrink rapid setting mortar compound, finishing, curing etc. as
per manufacturers specification and as directed.

7.10 Coving:
Providing and Appling at the junction of slab and vertical offsets with Cement Mortar 1:4 and
7.11 admixed with Nitobond SBR at dosage of 3L per bag of Cement at a size of 75 mm x 75
mm.(Cement & Sand shall be supplied free of cost at the point of execution)
7.20 Bore Packing:
Preparing the inside surface of core and PVC by roughening using suitable file to get better
adhesion prior to packing works. Cleaning the surface by wire brushing followed water jet to
remove any laitance or loose flaky particles. Providing necessary formwork for packing the
bore using suitable arrangement (depending upon site conditions). Applying a coat of
styrene- butadiene based polymer coating using Nitobond SBR to enhance adhesion
between the packing material and other surfaces Packing the gap using non-shrink cement
7.21 polymer based grout using Conbextra GPi upto the surface of the bore whilst the Nitobond
SBR is in tacky state. The above analysis is based on assumption for 150mm diameter core
with 110mm diameter PVC for 5” thick slab only. Typical Properties Compressive strength at
28day as per BS 1881 45N/mm2, completely as per the manufacturer’s Instruction.

7.30 Internal Side (Food Grade) Waterproofing: Nitocote CM 210


Providing and applying two coats forms 2.0mm thickness, the waterproofing coating shall be
Nitocote CM210, an elastomeric cementations coating. System shall consist of two-
component polymer modified cementations coating is supplied in pre-packaged form. The
cured coating, after immersion, It shall have the capability to resist a positive water pressure
of 5 bar and a negative water pressure of 3 bar when tested to European standard CEN/TC
7.31 67-67072:2003 part A-7. coving , grouting at construction joints etc complete as per
following strictly the instruction as per manufacture and complete as per the vendors
methodology approved by consultants/clients Cost inclusive of supply & application. taxes
are extra as applicable, application work shall be executed by our authorised applicator.

7.40 Protective layer(Horizontal ) :


Laying M20 grade screed concrete to required slope admix with integral waterproofing
compound Conplast WL of FOSROC make or Equivalent at the dosage of 125ml/bag of

Expansion joint FILLER BOARD
Suppling Expansion joint Filler board as per the drawing to the designated area shall be Fosroc Hydrocell XL
which shall be cross linked, non absorbent, semi rigid, cellular polyethylene with a nominal density of 60 kg/m3. It
shall have a recovery of 98% after 50% compression and a compressive strength of 0.15 N/mm2 when tested in
accordance with ASTM D3575. It shall have water absorption of less than 0.05% by volume when tested in
accordance with ASTM D3575 and be resistant to weathering and chemical attack. Chemical resistance of
Hydrocell XL an excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, oxidising agents and biological degradation The joint filler
shall have Water Byelaws Scheme approval for use in contact with potable water. cost supply of material only.

Expansion joint preparation


Surface preparation :Surfaces shall be cleaned by wire brushing to remove dirt, dust, laitance, soft mortar and all
loosely adhered particles. Cutting and removing the protruding joint filler boards to the required depth.
Repair the Expansion joint EDGES
Preparation of Expansion joint damaged edges shall be treated by using Fosroc Nitomortar 30 shall be a three
part solvent free combination of epoxy resin, modified amine hardeners filled with specially graded chemically inert
aggregates with high crushing, Compressive strength of 45 N/mmsq. mixing and application as per the
manufacturer data sheet.
Note : Expansion joint Edges preparation cost shall be extra as per site condition

BACKER ROD
Providing and placing Backer rod of suitable Diameter using Fosroc Expancel over the existing Polyethylene filler
board .
SEALANT : Polysulphide Sealant
Priming: Highly absorbent substrate should be primed. Fosroc Primer 7E /Primer 4 - For use on concrete, stone,
brickwork, timber andunglazed ,Aluminium edges. One thin coat should be applied and allowed to dry for some
time. Shall be supplied in 0.5 liter pack,
Sealant :Suppling and laying expansion joint Sealant as per the drawing to the designated area shall be Fosroc
Thioflex 600 a two part joint sealant based on a liquid polysulphide polymer. It is supplied as a 2.5 L pack
containing a base component and curing agent in the correct proportions which, when mixed together, cure to form
a tough rubber-like material. When cured, the sealant exhibits excellent adhesion to most surfaces including
concrete, Joint shall be sealed using Fosroc Thioflex 600, two part, polysulphide sealant, manufactured by Fosroc
to BS 4254 - 1983. Joint shall be prepared and the sealant mixed and applied in accordance with the
manufacturer's current data sheet.

WATER TIGHT MEMBRANE for Exposed condition vertical & Horizontal Expansion joint
Providing and fixing Fosroc Expoband One a Hypalon membrane system shall be supplied in size of 1.0mm thick
of 200mm width which is designed to be bonded over movement joints in structures to prevent the passage of
water. that exhibits following properties Density- 1.7 approximate, Tensile Strength- 7.0 N/sqmm,Elongation at
break- 400% .It is bonded in position using Fosroc Nitomortar FC is a two component thixotropic, solvent free,
compound based on epoxy resins, graded fillers and thixotropic agents.leaving the Sealant area . Expoband ONE is
suitable in construction use. The application and finishing shall be as per Fosroc specifications.

Note : Expansion joint sealant HAS TO BE PROTECTED from in Direct Contact with Wheel where ever the
vehicular movement is possible, by providing min 3.0mm Galvanised sheet by anchoring at one side of the
Expansion joint,.
