Equation A statement that the -
values of two
mathematical
expressions are equal.
Students’ Prior Knowledge (What do the students already know that
enables them to understand the lesson?):

- Student know how to multiply 1-digit number by 1 number.

Possible Problems and Misconceptions (What are some problems that

students will face because it is assumed that they have the previous
knowledge?):
- Student may forget to add the numbers together in the final step.

Solutions (How/ What can be done to resolve the

problems/misconceptions?):

- Teacher will make sure to show the student the right way of solving
equations many times.

Lesson Schedule (DETAIL)

Targeted teacher language (What will the teacher say throughout the
lesson?):

Teacher will explain the lesson for the student while teacher explaining gives
them example and also translated to Arabic if student didn’t understand
anything in English.

Student language (What language will the students use throughout the
lesson?):

The students will speak in English and use math target words.

Engage (warm up, review prior knowledge) time:

Will have some different equation for multiplication will solve it 20 min
with student I will do the first two and they will complete the
rest of them for example 35*3=
How many tens in 35? 3 so it equals 30
How many units in 35? 5 so its 5
Now 30+30+30= 90
And 5+5+5+=15
90+15= 105

Student have to follow this steps to get the answer.

Core (introduce and practice new concepts & procedures): Min 20

Student will have equations when we multiplied it together

gives us more than 100.

First the teacher will do three examples with them then will let
them to do it themselves.

For example:

56*4

How many tens in 56? 5 so it equals 50

How many units in 56?6 so its 6

Now 50+50+50+50= 200

And 6+6+6+6= 24
200+24= 224

Student will do the rest of equations that written on the

board.

Close (wrap up, discussion, brief review activity or 5

assessment):

Teacher will ask one student to solve an equation front of his

friends and use the blocks to model the equation.
