IIIT-Srikakulam, S.M.Puram, Etcherla (M), Srikakulam (Dt) – 532 402 Department of Chemical Engineering Year/Semester: E1SEM1_MT-2 Date: 03.11.2018 Subject: Engineering Graphics Time: 02.00 PM – 03.30 PM Subject Code: CE1102 Max. Marks: 15 Answer the following questions. Each question carries 5 mark. There is an internal choice. 3 X 5 = 15 M 1. A. (1) Draw the projections of the following points : (3M) a) A point P is in 3rd Quadrant, at a distance of 50 mm from both the planes, b) A point Q, whose front view is seen 40 mm above reference line and top view is on the reference line. c) A point R, in 4th Quadrant at a distance of 40 mm from HP and top view is 30 mm from xy line. (2) The length of the top view of a line parallel to the V.P. and inclined at 45° to the H.P. is 5O mm. One end of the line is 12 mm above the H.P. and 25 mm in front of the V.P. Draw the projections of the line and determine its true length. (2M) Or B. The top view of a 75 mm long line CD measures 50 mm. C is 50 mm in front of the V.P. and 15 mm below the H.P. D is 15 mm in front of the V.P. and is above the H.P. Draw the front view of CD and fnd its inclinations with the H.P. and the V.P. Show also its traces. 2. A. A line AB, 65 mm long, has its end A in the H.P. and 15 mm in front of the V.P. The end B is in the third quadrant. The line is inclined at 30° to the H.P. and at 60° to the V.P. Draw its projections. Or B. Draw the projections of a regular pentagon of 40 mm side, having its surface inclined at 30° to the H.P. and a side parallel to the H.P. and inclined at an angle of 60° to the V.P. 3. A. The top view of a plate, the surface of which is perpendicular to the V.P. and inclined at 60° to the H.P. is a circle of 60 mm diameter. Draw its three views. Or B. Draw the projections of a square pyramid having one of its triangular faces in the H.P. and the axis parallel to and 40 mm infront of V.P. Base 30 mm side; axis 75 mm long.
