WARNINGS 4

WARNING! BEFORE USING

Please read the following warnings before using Rapid Reboot. If you have questions or concerns, review
the FAQs located on page 13 and/or contact customer service at 801.899.7511.

• Only use the appropriate voltage compatible with the control unit (110-120V, 60Hz). Using a different
power supply may cause the system to operate incorrectly. For power supplies that exceed 120V, use
a voltage adapter.
• To avoid risk of electric shock, do not spill liquids on the control unit or use it near water: i.e., near a
bathtub, sink, laundry tub, or swimming pool.
• Avoid using or placing the control unit, cords, hoses, or attachments where they could be damaged,
present a fall hazard, or become an obstruction, such as on high ledges or high traffic areas.
• Keep all open ports, including on the control unit and hose plug, free of debris.
• Do not puncture, cut, rip or otherwise damage the attachments or hoses.
• To avoid falling, do not walk while wearing the attachments, whether inflated or not.
• Do not disassemble the control unit or attachments unless directed to do so by a Rapid Reboot
representative. If service is required, please contact customer service.
• Do not use this product if you have an infection, pain of unknown origin, bleeding (internal or external) at
or near the site of application, or if you have a wound at or near the site of application.
• Avoid using this product if you have sensitive skin, rashes, or severe sunburn.
• Consult a physician before using Rapid Reboot if you have, suspect you may have, or may be more
susceptible to any of the contraindications outlined on this page of this User Manual.

WARNING! CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use without first consulting your physician if you know or suspect you may have the following:
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
- Pulmonary embolism (blood clot) or edema
- Inflammation of the skin (e.g., cellulitis, erysipelas)
- Thrombophlebitis
- Ischemic vascular disease
- Severe peripheral neuropathy
- Related issues and complications
USAGE GUIDELINES 5

INDICATIONS
The Rapid Reboot Compression Therapy System is indicated for the temporary reflief of minor muscle
aches and pains and for temporary increase in circulation to the treated areas in people who are in good
health. The Rapid Reboot Compression Therapy System simulates kneading and stroking of tissues by
using an inflatable garment.

RECOMMENDED USE
Rapid Reboot comes with three preprogrammed time settings – 10, 20, and 30 minutes. Adjust the session
time to your schedule and your recovery needs. For example, a 10 minute session is typically sufficient for
recovering from light to moderate exercise. After an arduous work-out or extended exertion, however, a
20- or 30-minute session is recommended for optimal results.

While not necessary, it is recommended to keep your limbs straight and either level with or elevated
above the ground. This is typically most comfortable, and it best facilitates the compression sequencing
and cycles.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Each cycle on both Mode A and Mode B will begin at position 1 and progress to position 4. For the boot
attachments, this means progressing from the feet to the upper leg; for the hip attachments, this means
progressing from the thigh to the lower back; and, for the arm attachments, this means progressing from
the hand to the shoulder. At the beginning of a session, the first cycle or two is used to calibrate the
pressure based on your limb or body diameter, meaning you may experience, especially if the pressure is
set at 140mmHg or higher, less compression during the first cycle(s) than the pressure setting indicates.

CLEANING YOUR ATTACHMENTS

With a seamless inside and exterior, cleaning your attachments is simple: wipe them down with a
disinfectant wipe or a rag or sponge soaked in mild, house-hold cleaner. Dry them with a dry towel or let
them air dry before storing. Avoid getting cleaning solution or other liquids in any plugs or ports. Do not
scrub with steel wool or hard bristle brushes.

REPLACING O-RINGS
Rubber o-rings are found at the tip of the plug attached to the attachment hoses and are used to ensure
tight seal with the control unit port. Like all o-rings, these will eventually need to be replaced.
Replacement o-rings can usually be found at your local hardware store or are free upon request from
Rapid Reboot as part of your warranty. To replace them, first remove, if necessary, the damaged o-ring,
then fit the new o-ring into the groove at the tip of the plug.

PRODUCT GUIDE
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 7
13

What are the benefits?

Rapid Reboot’s dynamic compression technology speeds up your body’s natural healing processes by
enhancing blood flow to your muscles to facilitate cellular repair and protein synthesis, boosting lymphatic
drainage to relieve inflammation and reduce swelling, and mobilizing toxins such as lactic
acid and excess fluids. What you will notice is less stiffness and soreness, as well as increased mobility and
flexibility.

What are the differences between Mode A and Mode B?

Mode A is a peristaltic mode where each section will inflate and deflate as it progresses through its cycle,
making it ideal for enhancing blood circulation. Mode B is a flush mode where each section will inflate and
stay inflated as it progresses through the cycle. Mode B is ideal for recovery because it mobilizes lactic
acid, excess fluids, and other toxins from exercise up and out of your extremities.

Why does it not use cold air?

Although cold therapy has its place in recovery, particularly for injuries, evidence suggests that cold
therapy practices such as ice baths can actually inhibit recovery rather than aid it. This is especially true
if these cold therapy practices are used too often or incorrectly. Dynamic compression therapy, on the
other hand, is safe to use daily and is proven to speed up your recovery by increasing blood flow – not
inhibiting it.

How much pressure should I use?

Even though a relatively low-pressure setting provides benefit, what pressure you use is mostly a
matter of preference. Some people enjoy a higher-pressure setting, just like they may enjoy a deep tissue
massage. No matter your preference, however, the pressure setting should never hurt or be uncomfort-
able. If it is, decrease the pressure using the minus button on the control unit.

Can I use it before working out?

Yes! Rapid Reboot is safe to use before a work out or exercise.

How often can I use it?

Rapid Reboot’s dynamic compression systems are safe to use multiple times a day, including before and
after training sessions. For medical applications, consult your physician on treatment protocols best suited
for your medical needs.

Visit rapidreboot.com/faqs for more detailed answers, as well as other frequently asked questions.

RECOMMENDED SEPARATION DISTANCES

The model CU-04-100 is intended for use in the electromagnetic environment in which radiated RF disturbances are controlled. The customer of
the user of the model CU-04-100 can help prevent electromagnetic interference by maintaining a minimum distance between portable and mobile
RF communications equipment (transmitters) and the model CU-04-100 us recommended below, according to the maximum output power of the
communications equipment.

For transmitters rated at a maximum output power not listed above, the recommended separation distance d in meters (m) can be
estimated using the equation applicable to the frequency of the transmitter, where P is the maximum output power rating of the
transmitter in watts (W) accordable to the transmitter manufacturer.

NOTE 1: At 80 MHz and 800 MHz, the separations distance for the higher frequency range applies.
