The manufacturing site at 4900 Este Ave was established by Emery in 1885. Operated by Henkel from 1989-2001 and Cognis Until BASF Corporation acquired the company in 2010. BASF Corporation is the largest affiliate of BASF SE, headquartered in Germany, and the second largest producer and marketer of chemicals and related products in North America. ‘The safety and security of our employees, contractors, neighbors, and their families is our most important responsibilty. We work closely with all state, federal and local regulating bodies to make sure we operate within all environmental guidelines. Today, more than 100 employees operate two plants and a packaging line. They produce products used in many applications for personal care, detergents, adhesives, agriculture and lubricants products. Consistent with our commitment to Responsible Care, BASF has been — and will continue to be ~ proactive in employing comprehensive safety measures in all aspects of our operations. We integrate multiple layers of protection into our processes so that, in the event of a single failure, other safeguards protect employees, the community, and the environment. ‘The site, together with Emery, has a well-established Community Advisory Panel (CAP) that meets several times a year to keep residents of the surrounding neighborhoods informed on plant operations. By providing information to local citizens, the ‘companies encourage that flow of information to continue into their local communities to build mutual respect and trust. The CAP will celebrate its 25" anniversary later this year. BASF will never compromise on safety and will maintain the appropriate operating measures and systems in place at the ‘company’s Cincinnati site to ensure protection of the environment and near neighbors.
