E=Excellent G=Good S= Satisfactory M=Marginal US= Unsatisfactory
Strengths of the lesson:
• Starting with brain storming guesses.
• Give the students time to think and speak.
• Mirror is a great tool to show the concept “doubling things”.
• You linked the pictures with symbols and numbers.

Areas for development:

• In the chocolates bar example. Give clear instructions tell the sts what you need. Ex: The student wrote
the equation rather than the pictures.
• The student who wrote 6+6=12 , you need to follow his understanding by asking him or ask him to explain.
• Extend sts answer using questions like (why do you think that? How did this happen?....) (Read about
questioning!).
• Show more energy and fun time to the lesson by “acting out” remember sts always mirror their teacher,
if you show energy they will reply with energy.
• The lesson was very short, you finished after 30 minutes. You can do one more activity then finish up
with a worksheets.
• Hend you have great capabilities. I think you can do more and be a great teacher.

Students reflection on the feedback ( submit after 2 days form the day of the observation-Thursday 15th
March 2018 )

Dear Ms. Alya

First, thank you for your time and your valuable feedbacks. Secondly, my general feeling about my lesson
is that it was modest and simple. Moreover, I think it was short or the students just got it very quickly.
About giving the students clear instructions, I believe it is the basis of every lesson and it what lead the
lesson to the successfulness level because, when the students know what they have to do, they will act
very smoothly, and they will understand the concepts better. Therefore, next time I will try to make my
instructions clear, simple and as steps, so the students can follow them easily. Additionally, I know that I
should grab the attention of the student who is answering. I don't want him/her to follow others answers
so, I will make sure to have them with me and I will try to ask them for justification in the next time.
This for me to know if they fully understand what they are saying, or they are just copying form their
friends. Furthermore, I know I was a little pit nerves which might affect the students' feelings and my
attitude during the lesson. Hopefully, I will come over it next time and will try to show my acting skills
"happy, excited, and joyful.". Finally, I think I can perfume more next time and I want to add more
activities and manipulatives to promote the students understanding of the mathematical concept.

Regards
Hend
