Lesson Plane

Name of Student Teacher: Maryam Alblooshi School : RAK Academy PYP

Planning an Inquiry Based Lesson/Activity/Project Name:

Consider your PDP goals when lesson planning. Some points to keep in mind might be:

Professional Development Plan

(What do YOU need to work on in order to grow professionally?) According to my way of thinking the teacher need to have
a special value which is commitment because with that value she will able to give her work time and attention. Also,
confidence is very essential because that will help the teacher to achieve the learning objectives.
1. Choose and describe an aspect from a teaching competency that you need to work on (Goal): How to make a
professional plan.
2. Describe what you will do to help achieve your goal (Strategies Used): I researched in many different websites to
gain the concept of the lesson. I ask my MCT and my colleagues about the activities if they will match students
understanding or not.
3. Describe how you can tell if you’re achieving your goal (Evidence): That will be measured when students are doing
the activities and that last part of the lesson plan will tell us if students achieved the learning objective or not.
Grade Level: 5 Subject: Science Learning Outcome (ADEC code and words): Not included.

Title of Lesson: A brief description of my Lesson in my own words:

• Rotation. • Students are trying to discover what is the earth rotation

by doing some observation and record what happen to the
both sides. Also, they are going to know the difference
between day and night.
The problem that students are trying to solve or investigate (in my own The outcome or product of the students’ investigation (i.e. what will the
words): students be expected to produce at the end of their investigation)

• How the earth rotation happens and how we can know • Discover earth rotation and what are it causes.
when it’s night or day.

Essential Question: Guided Questions:

• What is the meaning rotation? • How the spin of the Earth leads to day and night?
• How many hours that the earth take to complete one rotation?
• Where the sun does it go when we can’t see it?

Learning Outcomes (including strand and substrand)

• Students will be able to discover how earth rotation happen.

• Students will be able to differentiate between day and night.
