Ozone Dosage

From the bar chart comparing ozone dosage and UV Absorption, it can be seen that with the
increase of ozone dosage, the UV Absorption decrease. The same thing also is shown for the
Coloration Absorption. All of the feed waters are almost constant in those two parameters.

There are many organic compounds that have conjugated double bond systems,
in which every other bond is a double bond. These conjugated systems have a large
influence on UV absorption intensities. With larger conjugated systems, the
absorption tend to be larger (Nakahara, 2002). From the data generated through the
experiment, we see the UV absorption tends to decrease with the increase of the
ozone dosage. This means that the organic compound bonds are broken by ozone, so
that the spectrophotometry read less organic material. Coloration absorption which
decrease means that the turbidity decrease, as it is also shown by the color change of
the feed water after treatment.

Ozone Dosage

From the graph comparing ozone dosage and ozone consumption, it can be seen that with the
increase of ozone dosage, the ozone consumption also increase. This means that ozone dosage is
linear with ozone consumption, and we can also say that with the increase of ozone consumption,
the UV and Coloration Absorption also decrease.
