Introduction Results & Discussions

Petrophysical studies emphasize the key parameters of reservoirs
to estimate its rock quality, predict the accumulation and establish
their optimum performance. In carbonate facies, the formation
evaluation process is very complex and not straightforward as
would be dealt in siliciclastics. Petrophysical properties are mostly
controlled based on the depositional environment and its
subsequent diagenesis. This project recognizes the reliability of
wireline prediction to scale up the petrophysical interpretation in
carbonates, with aims: 1
1. To interpret the subsurface carbonate based on seismic and
corroborate the reservoir based on well log ;
2. To evaluate the petrophysical properties of carbonate zones
2
with calibration from core results; and
3. To establish the petrophysical trend within facies and
assessed units.

Conclusion
Excellent average porosity and very high average permeability are found
for both wells indicating porous and permeable carbonate bodies of Field
X reservoirs quality. Low SW of the reservoir indicates the gas bearing
potential, SHC , ranging from 0.65 to 0.95 for a reservoir unit, which is
favourable for production and fluid dynamic. Good match between the
evaluated petrophysical properties with core results justifies the reliability
of log evaluation for petrophysical representativeness.
Lateral continuity of reflectors across the well is observed in seismic
section as they fall within Carbonate successions during cycle 4. This
project is expected to enhance a proper reservoir predictions and well-
characterized facies distribution of the carbonate reservoir in Central
Luconia and support the reservoir modelling.
