(1) Correlated subsurface electrofacies for carbonate distribution between
wells based on lithological analysis from GR and Shale Volume logs.
Field X (circled in red) within the carbonate buildups of Central
Luconia Province, Sarawak Basin . (2) Identified total porosity logs based on different methods and calibration
with core plug data analyses.
(3) Evaluated total porosity log (track 1), effective porosity (track 2), water
saturation (track 3) and permeability log (track 4) for both wells.
(4) Assessed petrophysical characteristics for well X1 and predicted
reservoir units across the carbonate zone.
(5) An interpreted reservoir unit (Unit 6) from well X1
Conclusion
Excellent average porosity and very high average permeability are found
for both wells indicating porous and permeable carbonate bodies of Field
X reservoirs quality. Low SW of the reservoir indicates the gas bearing
potential, SHC , ranging from 0.65 to 0.95 for a reservoir unit, which is
favourable for production and fluid dynamic. Good match between the
evaluated petrophysical properties with core results justifies the reliability
of log evaluation for petrophysical representativeness.
Lateral continuity of reflectors across the well is observed in seismic
section as they fall within Carbonate successions during cycle 4. This
project is expected to enhance a proper reservoir predictions and well-
characterized facies distribution of the carbonate reservoir in Central
Luconia and support the reservoir modelling.
