Big or Small

Reflection

Analyze (A):

All of the students can distinguish between big and small, but they can’t yet use the word big/ small and can’t distinguish

between the two “words”. To make them understand more I had one activity during the circle time where they had some

shapes big and small, I asked them to classify them into two groups. I read a short story which is about showing them big

and small objects.

Students were well engaged, this is one of the best lessons I taught. I had good activities that by it I could reach my

learning outcomes. Students well behaved and were manageable, they answered correctly to my questions even though

sometimes they will mix it up with using big and small.

Appraise (A):

I did meet my teaching goals, with the help of MCT I was able to assess students during the activities. She suggest that I

use the shapes I used in the beginning of the class, call each student and ask them to show me big/ small and classify it

into two groups.

Next Steps in learning and teaching

I need to work more on the timing, the circle time took longer than expected. Develop my formative assessment strategies.

Teacher Did:
1. Greet the students, take the attendance, talk about days of the week and the weather, play the hello song
and sing it with students.
2. Introduce the lesson.
3. I asked them which one is big/small.
4. Before moving to the areas, I explained the activities to the students.
5. Assessed students during the activities, asking questions while using the checklist.
6. Asked students to clean up.
7. Ended the lesson with asking the students to line up and get ready to go to the playground.
Students Did:
1. Greeting the teacher, counting the students, tell the day and the weather. Singing and dancing along
with the song.
2. Students started answering the teacher’s questions.
3. They listened carefully to the instructions, some asked questions of how to do this activity when they
didn’t understand.
4. They were working on the activities while answering me when I came to asked them.
5. Cleaning up, going to the bathroom, and washing hands.
6. Lining up and wait for the teacher’s instructions.
