I liked when you write the words Sun and Earth on
the board. Then, asked the students to write in the K
column in the KWL chart to engage the students and
know their prior knowledge.

Good explanation of the key terms (Revolution,

Hemispheres, Tilted) with pictures and Good use of
the earth model to show the word (titled).

Great questioning (interested and high blooms)

I liked the summary at the end (completing the L

Chart: What did you learn).
Reflection (to be completed after discussion of Peer Review with colleague): e.g. how did you feel about conducting a formal
observation? How did your colleague feel about being observed? How did you feel about discussing your observations with your
colleague after the lesson? How did your colleague react to your assessment? Did she agree with your evaluation? Which of the
suggestions you made will your colleague apply in her next lesson? Do you and your colleague feel that this was a valuable
experience? Why/Why not?

Today I did the second peer observation for my friend Maryam. She taught grade five the causes of the earth
revolution. That was a complement to the pervious lesson Earth Rotation. After the observation I had to
discuss the lesson with her, to outline the area of strength and weakness. This time I feel much better than the
previous time. I know now that she will accept my comments as she did last time. Again, I started to talk about
her strengths. She was very happy about those comments and she said that she doesn’t remember most of them
in due to nerves. Then, we moved to the things that I think she had to work on, before that she told me that it is
ok, that make me less stressful. Eventually, she wasn’t really sure about my comments and she said that she
followed her MST way in sending the students off to tables. However, she said that she will try to apply my
method nest time and see how it works. Finally, I think she achieved her goal which was to ask high level
questions. I think the list that she used during the lesson and the way she add good questions to her lesson plan
heled her a lot to accomplish that goal.
