Greetings from Romania!

November, 2018

Fall has been very warm here in Romania! All of October and through last week we had temperatures in the 70s!
This week, the real fall has arrived with temps in the 50s and later this week it will freeze at night. I just saw some
pictures from Michigan where they had their first snow recently! Its coming folks!

The Americans from Virginia had a great ministry here last month. The highlights were the film shown in a local
theatre called The Case for Christ. About 200 people came and the film made a young man who was already
interested in the Gospel interested even more, and 3 evenings later he gave his life to Jesus. He is a high school
th
student, 12 grade, name is Andrei. Pray for Andrei. Pastor Mike led him to Christ; I was there with them and the
basketball coach as well. Please ask the Lord to let Andrei have some free time to disciple him.

Marius, the boy who is the car detailer, who you saw in the photo with me last month, was able to visit a restaurant
with me, his girl friend and Alin, a boy who was here from Timisoara to help with the basketball ministry last month. In
the process of answering Marius question about what I do in Romania, it opened the door to speaking about God with
him and his girl friend. Two weeks later Marius and Mirona (I call them M&M!) came to my apartment with Professor
Daniel, a friend of Marius family and my friend! We had a great discussion after the film and Marius took a Bible home
with him! Add M&M to your prayers please!

The Lord keeps giving me more and more young friends. A couple months ago I met a young man named Sami in
Timisoara. He is a Christian, from a Christian family. Sami and I just kind of hit it off in friendship, and the Lord has
allowed me to greatly encourage him Spiritually. I have encouraged him to read his Bible, given him a book in English
called “Not a Fan”. Last week, Sami sent me an incredible message, just out of the blue, here it is. “Jim! Brother!
Frate! I can not close my eyes to sleep if I don’t tell you an extra mega giga thank you! For what? Let me be more
specific! Because you are one of the reasons that I am baptizing now. Because God worked into you and helped me
open my eyes. Because all along this journey with the monthly pay of the car you were there with a word or with some
cheese. The words aren’t that big enough to measure my happiness that I meet you. You are awesome brother! God
give you 10x more!” Sami below left, about to be baptized and right with Alin and me!

Thank you Lord for working in Sami’s life! He finished high school this year and in February will go to the city of
Oradea to learn to be a fireman! Pray for Sami that God will use him to be a testimony for Jesus!

January 2, 2019 is the day I will arrive home in Michigan! I am blessed to be able to spend Christmas in Romania!
I am working on a brochure that will speak about how God has worked this year and about the plans for 4 teams next
year! I expect to have it ready to be sent with this letter next month.
