On 12/15/2018 15:00 the defendant was arrested for the offense(s) of:

4 12/15/2018 RECKLESS DRIVING 41-6A-528 UT MB No

I believe there is probable cause to charge the defendant with these charges because:
On 12/15/2018 Summit County Dispatch received 5 separate calls regarding a reckless semi truck driving in the
Snyderville Basin area. The truck was reported to be driving all over the road and was reported to have run a
stop sign. I located the semi truck which was described as a a grey semi pulling a white trailer near the
intersection of Old Ranch Rd and Trailside Dr. I pulled behind the semi, activated my overhead lights and the
semi pulled to the right side of the road and stopped on Old Ranch Rd. I exited my patrol vehicle and provided
dispatch with the trailer plate information. As I was approaching the passenger side of the trailer the semi
started to drive way. I returned to my patrol vehicle activated my siren and began pursuing the semi. The semi
accelerated and ran the stop sign on Old Ranch Rd and Highland Dr. I informed Summit County Dispatch I was in
pursuit of the semi. The semi continued driving and straddled both lanes of traffic and drove into oncoming
traffic numerous times forcing multiple drivers to pull of the road into the snow bank. The pursuit continued
down Bitner Rd and Rasussen Rd. The semi forced multiple vehicles to pull of the road to avoid being struck. The
semi ran a total of 4 stop signs and sped well over the speed limit on Bitner and Rasmussen roads while fleeing
from me. The semi entered I80 Westbound at Jeremy Ranch. Once on the freeway the semi swerved across all 4
lanes of traffic multiple times. I asked Deputy Kasza who was driving behind me in the pursuit to attempt to get
in front of the semi which was traveling approximately 30 miles per hour and spike its tires. Deputy Kasza
attempted to pass the semi in the number 1 lane. While Deputy Kasza was passing the semi, the semi swerved
towards Deputy Kazsa's vehicle nearly striking him and forcing him off the roadway. A short time later the semi
came to a stop near mile marker 140. A high risk stop was conducted on the vehicle and the driver was taken
into custody. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Dustin Cullom. Cullom was the only occupant in the
vehicle. Once Cullom was in custody I read him Miranda. Post Miranda Dustin informed me he had seen my
emergency lights and fled because people would kill him, his family and me if he stopped. The semi vehicle
weight was found to me approximately 80,000lbs.
Cullom was arrested and booked on the charges of:
Failure to respond to an officers signal to stop F3
Aggravated Assault F3
Reckless Endangerment MA
Reckless Driving MB
