GENERATOR SET FACTORY ACCEPTANCE TEST (SAT) PROCEDURE

GENERATOR SET SETUP

This Engine setup and check shall be conducted by Caterpillar authorized personnel
before starting the engine:

1. Check air cleaner, turbo inlet for debris. Clean the debris and dust as
required. Inspect if any water in the air cleaner housing. Clean up the
water and dry up to prevent engine damage
2. Check fuel system temporary connection. Perform inspection to identify
piping and flexible connection has been connected properly. Make sure
no fuel leakage along the pipe, perform inspection nearby fuel piping
and engine
3. Perform visual check on cooling system. Inspect water coolant, add if
necessary
4. Perform visual inspection on engine breather system. Connect a
temporary flexible pipe to engine breather system and run it to the
waste point
5. Perform visual inspection on exhaust pipe connection, make sure there
is no weight pressure on the flexible fitting
6. Visual check on temporary cable connected between generator set,
control panel and measuring devices
7. Connect temporary 24 VDC batteries to engine starting motor
8. Make sure Local Control Panel (GCP) display is working
9. Connect temporary cable from common busbar to load bank
10 Perform walk around inspection to identify any water and oil leakage. If
water or oil leakage is found, do remedial action as required.

VISUAL CHECK

Inspector shall conduct this Visual check by filling the Visual check form attached:

1. Perform visual check on Engine Air Intake System

2. Perform visual check on Engine Cooling System
3. Perform visual check on Engine Fuel System
4 . Perform visual check on Engine Lubricant System
5. Perform visual check on Engine Diesel Engine Grounding System
6. Perform visual check on Cable Termination
7. Perform visual check on Cable Protection
8. Perform visual check on Local Control Panel (EMCP 4.2)

GENERATOR SET LOAD TEST - SINGLE OPERATION W I T H LOAD BANK

This Generator set Performance test shall conducted and recorded by Caterpillar
authorized personnel according to Caterpillar test form and to be witnessed by Inspector

Perform engine starting sequence.

1. Allow the engine to reach full operating temperature. Verify cranking
status, oil pressure, voltage built up, frequency, jacket water
temperature and ignition timing
2. If everything is within the normal operation parameter (400 V, 50 hz,
1500 rpm) then continue to the next sequence. Otherwise remedial
preparation work is required.
3. Verify all shutdown and alarm conditions, if there is fault on engine
panel side. Perform remedial preparation work. Once it is done, fill the
B table and continue to next sequence.
4. Close the ACB on unit 1 GCP
5. Measure engine rpm and R-S-T phase sequence on unit's GCP
6. If point all the point above has been done for unit 1, repeat the
sequence for unit 2 to 4
7. Synchronize all the unit in consecutively
8. Turn on the customer LVMDB
9. Record the parameters in accordance with generator test report as
attached
10. Start the test and continue to run 48 hours continuously based on
actual consumer load. The Genset should be able to supply according
to its specification. Record the parameter hourly.
