Special Issue on: “Applied Power Electronics and Intelligent Motion
Control”
Power electronics and motion control plays a vital role in today’s modern society with ever expanding
applications in industrial, commercial, residential, military, robotics, safety critical areas and distributed
power generations. A tremendous research effort has been invested worldwide in these
contemporary areas for technological advancement. There have been significant advances over last
two decades and the challenges of conceptualizing, modeling, and control are applied successfully
in several cutting edge technology. The power electronic based motion control has become
sufficiently rugged to withstand the rigours of aerospace environment. Hence electrical drives are
replacing hydraulic and pneumatic systems in such highly demanding application areas. The industrial
motion control demands an art requiring a blend of power electronics techniques coupled with
modern signal processing and control engineering.

This special issue is envisaged to promote this vibrant field of research through high quality reports and
to divulge state of the art development, persisting challenges and future trends to the academics,
researchers and industries. Major topics to be covered include, but not limited to:

• Electric Motor Drives—Their control and applications

• Electrical Machines design, modeling, diagnostics, estimation and identification techniques,
vibration and noise issues.
• Energy Management through Power Electronics
• Power Electronics applied to Distributed power system applications
• Power Electronics converters, modeling, control and applications
• Automotive Power Electronics
• Multi-phase Power Converter Control
• Multi-phase Electric Drives
• Other related topics

Submission Guidelines and Important Dates

Manuscripts should be in English and normally not exceed 8000 words in length (single column, 10pt
running text, double spacing). All contributions will be subjected to a blind review process.
Manuscripts must be sent electronically to the following email addresses at the same time:
