I bring to your kind notice that the SRM IST is hosting the South Zone Inter University Badminton
(Men) Tournaments – 2018-2019- as given below.
Tournament Dates: Venue

South Zone Inter University: 21st November 2018 SRM IST Campus
to Kattankulathur (Chennai)
25th November 2018 Kancheepuram District
Pin – 603 203, Tamil Nadu
INTER – ZONE WILL BE CONDUCTED FROM 26th to 29th NOVEMBER 2018

Reception: Participating teams may please intimate to the Organising Secretary at SRM IST
Campus, Kattankulathur- 603203, their date, mode and time of arrival well in advance. The
University is located in the suburban of Chennai, midway between Tambaram and Chengalpattu.
Several passenger and city buses shuttle between Chennai and Chengalpattu. Electric trains from
Chennai to Chengalpattu, stop at Potheri railway station, in front of which the University is located
on the GST Road. Teams reaching Chennai Central Railway station Chennai can board
electric train at Park station (Just in front of the Central railway station) and get down at
Potheri. Teams coming via Trichirapalli to Chennai can get down at Chengalpattu(CGL) and
board a electric train to Potheri (15km).

Accommodation: The teams shall be provided unfurnished accommodation in the university

hostels 24 hours prior to the commencement of the matches and teams have to vacate the
accommodation soon after their last match. Teams should bring their beddings and own lock and
key. Each team will have to pay a Caution Deposit of Rs. 2,000/- which shall be refunded at the
time of departure of the team, after adjusting the cost of damages, if any.

Managers Meeting: The meeting of all the managers of participating teams will be held on
20-11-2018 at 6:00.p.m. in the Department of Physical Education & Sports Sciences (Near
Dental Ground) of the university campus at Kattankulathur. The managers should hand over four
copies of the duly certified Eligibility Performa along with the player’s Identity Cards to the
Organizing Secretary in the meeting.
Additional Informations / Instructions:
 The managers of the teams should pay Rs.1,500/- per match as Officiating charges to the Organizing
Secretary before the commencement of their match.
 The tournaments will be played as per the BFI latest rules and modified AIU Rules.
 In support of the Eligibility details of the students, taking part in the Inter-University Men Badminton
Tournament, Xerox copies of their 10th class (SSLC) and (HSC) Intermediate pass & Provisional certificate of
the degree (in case of P.G students) certificates attested by the Director of Physical Education concerned
must be submitted to the Organizing Secretary. Students without the above documents will not be allowed
take part in the Inter University Tournament.
 The Organizing Secretary reserves the right to make changes in the program and venue, if necessary, which
shall be final and binding on the participant teams
 Team Manager are totally responsible for their players to maintain discipline during competition & Stay
 The Team should make their own arrangement for boarding (Number of Canteens are available inside the
campus both Veg / Non- Veg food).
 Food will also be served in the hostel on payment by request.

 The tournament will be organized our PVC Synthetic Courts, only non marking shoes are permitted of play

 Kindly confirm your university team participation / withdrawal if any, on or before 14/11/2018.

 The teams are requested to follow strictly the match schedule and should report their teams at least half-on-
hour before the commencement of the matches at their respective courts.

 The teams should report in the grounds at least 30 minutes prior to the commencement of their matches

Note:
For All the Matches Kawasaki-6E Shuttle Cocks will be used for the tournament. All the team
Managers are requested to purchase above mentioned cocks at the tournament venue. It is mandatory that the
outside cocks are not allowed. The cost of each barrel Rs. 1500 /- and the receipt will be provided.
