What is your thesis statement? White people were still violent even after the C.R.M, but it took time
for the racial-oriented communities to get used to colored people
being equal to them.

The Civil Rights Movement was one of the biggest movements in history. It made African Americans equal to
white colored people. But imagine how the white people who protested against integration and equality
would’ve felt when the C.R.M worked? How would the all-white communities or the racial-oriented
communities change once the C.R.M was a success?

It would’ve taken time for the white people to get accustomed to this. People have said before that “They don’t
care about the law” in the book Warriors Don’t Cry. But sooner or later, the all-white communities would’ve
been integrated, because the colored people had the same rights as them. But time and time again, we see white
people not following the law.

The Little Rock Nine is a prime example. Even though it was during the civil rights movement, it could connect
to after the movement. On History.com, it explains what happened to the Little Rock Nine, even when school
integration was a law. “Nine black students, known as the Little Rock Nine, arrived at Central High School to
begin classes but were instead met by the Arkansas National Guard (on order of Governor Orval Faubus) and a
screaming, threatening mob. The Little Rock Nine tried again a couple weeks later and made it inside but had to
be removed for their safety when violence ensued.” This happened right after school integration was made a
law.

“In 1954, the civil rights movement gained momentum when the United States Supreme Court made
segregation illegal in public schools”. Even the Supreme Court was involved, and officially made segregation
illegal. But even then, the Little Rock Nine was confronted with a threatening mob of white people when trying
to enter the school. This took time for the white people to get used to the black people getting integrated into a
white school, but sooner or later, they got less violent towards them. And that’s what happened after the Civil
Rights Movement was a success.

Even on BBC, they talked about how the colored people felt with white people being “supreme”. It says,
“White violence, such as that seen when peaceful black protestors were attacked by police dogs in Birmingham,
Alabama forced the US government to step in to give black people their rights.” This explains how the black
people were much more peaceful about this protest, while white people kept pushing them down and down, but
they stood up, even among all this white violence and oppression from them. Once they gained their rights, they
were now equal to white people. Nothing was seperating them now, and now the white people, once violent
protestors against black rights, had and would have been calmed down, since they couldn’t do anything about it.
The once racial-oriented communities were being integrated after a while, and no violence or interruption in
between.
