Jalan Sultan as the site chosen and it will address the social needs of a
particular urban place and provide interaction and connection of people in the
urban spaces. Based on the project brief , we proposed Collaborative Working
Community in the Heart of the City’ .

1.1 Project Title

This project is based on the theme of architecture with a social impact and the
resolution and integration of technology, environment and cultural context in
architectural design. We used to development of architectural position and
design brief in proposing strategy to resolving social issues pertinent within the
conditions of the urban landscape. Located in an urban area.
1.2 Introduction of Co-working Spaces

The definition of ‘Proposed Collaborative Working Community in the Heart of the City’ is to design a place
where it will be a healthy working environment for professionals.

Next we used to create a place that allows collaboration and empowering people to work in strategic Sustaining Humanities
locations, be given options of the different working styles of today and more flexible environment.

On the other hand, we have to design a hub where people experience balance in life: live , work and
meet , where they have opportunities to not just work but cut travel cost by offering transient or periodical
living units moreover opportunity meet, congregate, unwind or even play.
Live Meet

Last but not least, fostering and encouraging the growth of professionals, entrepreneur and alike by
offering unique ways of healthier and personalized working environment. Collaborative working
community in heart of
the city

1.3 PROJECT AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Work

2. Provide a short-term living for the users to cut down on traveling cost and time
3. Encourages the mingling concept, where we highly promote interaction not only between the
designers but also with the existing community.

the project brief, the co-working space can build up to 4-5
stories only.

-co-working space can be build up yo 227 sqm.

2.3 Site significant issues

Market culture
- the site nearby Petaling street and Pasar Karet
- it full of heritage shop lots
-there are different types of community, a lot of potential to exchange different culture within the
community.

3.1 Genius Loci of Site

On spreading the inspiration of the THE ARCS, the spatial

organisation had considered the flow of pedestrian movement
pattern along Jalan Sultan, petaling street and the evolution of
the city. Thereby leading people to be more able to feel the
surrounding market culture while meandering along the street.

The intention of collaborating working space is aim to

accumulate individuals from a tremendous group of the
individuals which and gradually classes them to fulfill their
necessities. Proposed a flat working environment which
reduces the impact of hierarchies. On one of the main beauty
of the design which is the void on both different spaces, to
allow visual interaction helps to translate the evolution of the
market culture of the city from empty land evolve toward a city
center.

By using ‘pass - stopping ‘ strategy where included a shaede

pedestrian walkway, and open plaza in the design strategy in
order to gather surrounding individuals. At the same time, the

3.2 Precedent Studies

Centraal beheer

The concept for the Centraal Beheer building involves the

consistent application of a single repeated spatial unit of 9 x 9
metres as a basic building block. The dimensions were
chosen so as to be able to accommodate all components of
the programme.

Depending on what is needed at a particular place, the

spatial units can be allotted another duty and in that sense
are interpretable. In addition these spatial units, though
interlinked by bridges, are washed by a sea of space, so to
speak.

Natural ventilation
-used trees to cooling air and enhance the wind flow
the space.

Sun Path
The building's wall at east and west are solid and have minimum opening due to avoid the direct sun.
It also to decrease temperature of the building.

PSALI System

Solar transmission can be low as 20 % for a mature tree.

Void

The voids not only for the visual connection between the user, but also
for natural ventilation. Not only that, it also allow the natural light to
