What do you need to install TreeParker

Equipment requirements
• Plate compactor
• Jumping jack compactor
• Excavating equipement
- sufficient reach
- 3600 swing radius
• Laser or other suitable measuring device

Preparation prior to the installation

• workers on site must have access to :
- the TreeParker installation guidelines
- drawings topview and sectional views

Installation Guidelines
Determine the dimensions of the TreeParker area

over-excavation a minimum of 300mm on all

sides to allow for working room and proper
compaction

NOTE : over-excavation 300mm

Installation Guidelines

Excavate the TreeParker area

Make sure excavation is deep

enough to accommodate sub base
aggregate + TreeParker and
pavement section.

Compact bottom of excavation

(sub grade) before placing fabric
and sub base aggregate

Installation Guidelines
Install the geotextile

Place a layer of geotextile fabric over

the compacted subgrade before
placing the sub base aggregate.

The geotextile fabric is an important

component of the overall TreeParker
system and it is essential for establishing
a uniformly stable sub base.

Installation Guidelines
Place and compact the sub base aggregate layer

Place the required thickness of sub base

aggregate over the geotextile fabric.
Compact the sub base aggregate to
95% standard proctor density or as
specified

Installation Guidelines
Quality control

It is the responsibility of the contractor

through the Owner, Owner’s
Representative, Engineer, or
Geotechnical Consultant to verify that
the sub base is constructed to the
specified requirements prior to placing
any TreeParker.

Installation Guidelines
Lay out the bases

Mark out the inner dimensions of

the tree opening

Installation Guidelines
A note on curbs

Make sure curb or thickened

pavement edge at tree opening
is fully supported by TreeParker

Installation Guidelines
Lay out the bases

1) Place frames around 2) Place frames beyond

the treepits tree opening and space
accordingly

Installation Guidelines
Lay out the bases TreeParker installed with TreeParker can be
up to 75 mm spacing. linked together

Lay out TreeParker base

frames according design

Installation Guidelines
Pin the base

If Treeparker frames are not linked

horizontaly then use pins to ancher the
frames to the base.

Use minimal 2 pins per frame.

Note: if you can’t use pins, (on roofgarden ..)

use wooden spacers.

Installation Guidelines
Attach the posts to the base frames

Push the posts into the frame.

Attach the topframes

before filling with soil. To
keep the posts aligned.

Installation Guidelines
Install the Treeparker-combi Grid

Install a reinforced geotextile

around the perimeter of
TreeParker System

The TreeParker–combi Grid keeps the

soil inside the system without
preventing movement of water and
air in and out of the system.

Installation Guidelines
Using TreeParker combi Grid

Allow for a >150mm overlap Allow for a 300mm overlap at Attach the Grid to the frame
at the bottom. the top. with cable tie, every 1m¹

At the end/beginning allow a

overlap of >500 mm

Installation Guidelines
Install the first lift of backfill

In order to keep the Grid at place,

install backfill material.
The maximum layer height installed at
maximum height you still can compact
according regulations at site.

Note: do not compact the backfill yet!

Installation Guidelines
Install the first lift of planting soil

Install planting soil to approximate same

height as backfill material.

Level out and compact by walking over

the soil. ( soil compaction 1- 1,5 Mpa )

Installation Guidelines
Compact the first lift of backfill material

After the soil has been installed at the

same height of the backfill material and
walked through, compact the backfill
material to the required compaction

Note: Prevent compaction equipment

from coming in direct contact with the
posts to avoid possible damage.

Installation Guidelines
Filling up the system

After backfill material has been placed and compacted to the height of the
soil inside the Cells, the process of adding backfill material around perimeter
and soil in the Cells repeats itself

Installation Guidelines
Closing the system

Level out the soil. Clean the frames. Attach the decks

Leaving an airlayer
between 3 up to 8 cm

Installation Guidelines
Install geotextile fabric over the TreeParker

Cover TreeParker with geotextile.

Note : Extend Geotextile to also cover the

backfill area

Installation Guidelines
Install the treepit curbing

Concrete; prefab or poured Steel curbing

in project

Installation Guidelines
Install Rootguidance panels

Make as big a circle inside

the tree opening as possible

Installation Guidelines
Install the aggregate base course

Place the aggregate from outside

of the perimeter of the system. Start
at one end and work continuously
toward the other end. This keeps
the geotextile fabric loose and
allows it to be pulled down into the
openings between the decks.

Note: Do not operate machinery over the

TreeParker system. The system does not
attain its load bearing capacity until the
final pavement surface is in place.

Installation Guidelines
Compact the aggregate base

Compact the base course

aggregate as specified with
equipment weighing 500 kg or less.

Installation Guidelines
Install the permanent pavement
