Defendant.

The State of Utah, by and through Craig Johnson, Deputy Utah County Attorney,
charges the defendant with the commission of the following offenses:

COUNT 1: ATTEMPTED SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF A MINOR, a third degree


felony, in violation of Utah Code Ann 76-5b-201, in that on or about November 1, 2018
through November 30, 2018, in Utah County, the defendant, Justin Thayne Crawley did
(a) knowingly attempt to produce, possess, possess with intent to distribute, distribute, or
view child pornography.

COUNT 2: ATTEMPTED SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF A MINOR, a third degree


felony, in violation of Utah Code Ann 76-5b-201, in that on or about November 1, 2018
through November 30, 2018, in Utah County, the defendant, Justin Thayne Crawley did
(a) knowingly attempt to produce, possess, possess with intent to distribute, distribute, or
view child pornography.

COUNT 3: ENTICING A MINOR OVER THE INTERNET, a third degree felony, in


violation of Utah Code Ann 76-4-401, in that on or about November 1, 2018 through
November 30, 2018, in Utah County, the defendant, Justin Thayne Crawley did ,
knowingly use a computer to solicit, seduce, lure, or entice, or attempted to use a
computer to solicit, seduce, lure, or entice a minor or a person the defendant believed to
be a minor to engage in any sexual activity which was a violation of state criminal law.

COUNT 4: ENTICING A MINOR OVER THE INTERNET, a third degree felony, in


violation of Utah Code Ann 76-4-401, in that on or about November 1, 2018 through
November 30, 2018, in Utah County, the defendant, Justin Thayne Crawley did ,
knowingly use a computer to solicit, seduce, lure, or entice, or attempted to use a
computer to solicit, seduce, lure, or entice a minor or a person the defendant believed to
be a minor to engage in any sexual activity which was a violation of state criminal law.

PROBABLE CAUSE STATEMENT: Jason Randall of the Utah County Sheriff's Office,
having probable cause to believe that the defendant committed the above-listed offenses,
submitted the following evidence in support of the filing of this Information: In
November 2018 in Orem, 25-year-old Justin Crawley engaged in a sexting relationship
over Facebook Messenger & Snapchat with the 15-year-old female victim. On multiple
occasions Crawley solicited nude pictures (COUNTS 1 & 2) and sexual intercourse
(COUNTS 3 & 4) from the victim. As part of his grooming process, he bragged to the
victim that he had received nude pictures from other underage victims, who he had also
engaged in sex with.

Defendant was booked into jail on $20,000 cash only bail.

Based upon evidence received from Jason Randall of the Utah County Sheriff's Office, I
have reason to believe the defendant committed the offenses as charged herein.
