Design II

Hydraulic Telescopic cylinder

Basic principal

it's down to the design of the cylinder heads. In this example, the larger cylinders' edges lie
flat on the bottom of the ram - no fluid can access them until they are pulled up by
pressure on the smaller one. There is still a pressure jump when these new surfaces are
made to be affected.

This example includes a Single acting cylinder and it counts on its weight and gravity to
come back to its initial state .
Doctor’s project needs a D
ouble acting cylinder that can be controlled on the other end
by injecting oil in the opposite direction

The green arrow represent the oil pressure that will flow to inner cylinder to push it back
Which in return will push the outer cylinder end with it .

The yellow part is an assembly. For example it consists of a body (pipe) and a bottom. They
are fixed together by thread. So no problem to assemble the blue part. In my videos for
simplicity, generally the parts that are fixed together are shown as one part.

Objectives

1- Solidworks Detailed drawing

2- Design calculation based on the following considerations :

1. The Wheel are free to rotate ( Bending

can happen in any direction )
2. The top plate size should be less than
the wheels plate to prevent flipping
3. Our main load is Humans , So we
should calculate how many should be
on top for a stable condition ( Stability
analysis )
4. Sealing to prevent oil leakage and bolts
5. Buckling and Bending analysis
