the early stages of product deelopment for the automation of physical system architecture generation.
The creation of these architectures is based on the specification of a system and its abstract
components, and a set of constraints defines how these components can be connected. The goal of
this project is to extend current capabilitis of system architecture generation towards the architecture
of embedded systems (i.e., software/control architecture) and to bridge the gap between modelling
and simulation tools and embedded systems to enable the implementation of advanced control with
physical models. The intern will focus on how to use the above constraint-based approach on

NV There is an increasing number of software products making use of Machine Learning techniques to ente om
ensure a competitive advantage in today's software intensive market. The ability to extract meaningful
conclusions from data-intensive applications is a particularly relevant feature in highly technical fields,
as is the case of the automotive industry. During the design phase of a powertrain or suspension
system for a new vehicle, Machine Learning tools will aid in selecting the most cost-efficient and better
performing solution available. The current state-of-the-art methods for developing new automotive
components rely on a clone-and-own approach, which suffers from a severe bias towards expliring
similar solutions to those already existing. On the other hand, using a novel generative approach,
coupled with computer aided design and knowledge xtraction, has the potential of producing
revolutionary changes in architecture for automotive components.
In this internship, the student will use Machine Learning techniques and apply them to automotive
data (logical architectures and simulation results). The student will then validate his/her approach with
domain experts, and proceed to integrate it in the existing product, ensuring thta the approach is
reliable, well-documented and easy to use.

based on that board to work with it. Similar to Arduino, a platform is a library component describiing
I/O and driver functions to access the already available components. But today, this platform is not
available on the multiple release versions of the development tools (Vivado SDSoC and HLS), not even

more than one version of the tools, as well as to create templates, tests and tutorial to help

understand and control the spiral correlations and the multiferroic propertis in Mn1-xMgxCr2O4, a
poweder neutron diffraction study of the A-site substituted system was already initiated in order to
determine the magnetic structures for the derivatives x = 0.3 and 0.5. In this project the diffractograms
taken a the G4.1 diffractometer at LLB at several temperatures for x=0, 0,3 and 0,5 will be analysed by
using the fullprof package.

Laboratory (MBPEL) this context we are mainly involved in applied research at a national or international level. Our
research is thus focused on the selection of biomolecules; natural proteins or engineered peptides;
exposing either a high recognition property (assembly, addressing, signaling,...),either a particular
property (anti-microbial, anti-adhesion, adhesion, anti-odour,...); either an enzymatic activity
(degradation of pollutants, killing of bacteria...). Our field of application is very large, going from
mineralogy, medical implants, environment (water and air depollution), construction (wall coating and
glass coating) and the food industry. Our approac is integrating the final application. In a first step we
identify target specific peptides (GEPI) thanks to the phage display technology or we select natural
proteins from literature. Those biomolecules are then engineered and applied to a surface to respond
to the identified problematic. Then the function added is characterised in the lab and in pre-pilot
study. To do so, a laboratory is dedicated for the phage amplification with all the necessary equipment
(bacteriological hood, incubators, centrifuges, shakers...) thus in order to avoid cross-contamination
with bacteria. A second laboratory allow us to produce selected GEPIs/proteins (bacteriological hood,
incubators, centrifuges, protein disruptor...). A third laboratory contains an Akta Purifier, an Akta
Prima, a DLS, and several spectrophotometers in order to purify and characterize the produced
GEPIs/proteins. Finally, a dark space containing olympus fluorescence microscopes allow us to visualise
the interaction GEPI/target thanks to a fluorescent probe. As our lab is part of the GIGA Research, we
benefit as well from the different facilities present in the Centre. The team is formed by 2 Post-docs, 2
technicians and several undergraduate students and we are continually looking for new student. It
would be advisable that candidates have a good background in protein production and purification and
some technical expertise on phage display would be a plus. The ideal candiddates will have to be
