20 Painting the hull can be done with a paintbrush or with an airbrush, which will achieve a better finish. If you paint with a brush, use matt black
paint; with an airbrush use synthetic matt black paint mixed with approximately 25 per cent solvent. When the entire hull is dry, remove the
masking tape and fit the gun port door covers 75 and the dark narrow rubber fender 76, previously painted in the same black. Fit the embellishments
77, 78, 79 to bow and stern and glue the portholes 80.

21 Inside the bow hatchway, glue the lengthwise 81 and transversal 82 coamings, so that they both overhang the deck by 4mm. Glue the lengthwise
83 and the transverse 84 frames against the coamings. Paint the interior deck floor of the hatchway black. With parts 85, 86, 87 and 88 repeat
the operation for the central hatchway. With parts 89, 90 and 91 for the bow hatchway, and with parts 94, 95 and 96 for the central hatchway, split
both hatchways into two, lengthwise. Paint the sides of the parts 81, 82, 85, 86, 89 and 94 in ivory colour, using acrylic matt paint. Make the bow
hatchway covers 92 and the central hatchway 97, fit the small eyebolts 93 in both ends of the covers and glue the covers into their respective positions.

22 With 1mm-diameter brass wire, make the chains of plate 98 so that they fit on the clump blocks 99 and 100. With pliers, bend the lower end of
the wire to make a 0.5mm-diameter loop to fit a brass nail 26, making the chains 14mm in length. Paint the straight part of each chain of plate.
Drill 18 1.2mm-diameter holes in the foremast yard chainwales 101 and 20 holes in those of the mainmast 102, as shown in the photo. Make 1.2mm
notches into which their chains of plate are to be fitted according to the measurements in the photo. Glue the chains of plate with their clump blocks to
the chainwales and glue this unit to the inside of the gunwale covers. Take special care to position it correctly, ensuring that the large clump blocks 99
are positioned facing the bow, and the first of these corresponds with the respective mast hole. Fit the previously painted belaying pins 103.
