AND

Applications

Benzoic Acid is a temporary diverting agent used in acidizing stimulation treatments in sandstone and carbonate
reservoirs. Although soluble in both hydrocarbon and water-based fluids, the rate of solubility is sufficiently low to
allow mixing and pumping with both fluids. Benzoic acid is effective in diverting treatments in both open hole and
cased wells and is stable at temperatures to 350°F (177°C).

Features

Proven T rack Record

Track
Very effective for diverting acid treatments and fracture stimulations for many years. Equally effective in cased
hole, open hole or horizontal wells.

Non-Damaging Diversion
Diverts treatments evenly across the entire zone of interest with no permanent permeability damage.

High T emperature Stability

Temperature
Stable to 300°F (149°C). Cooldown effects allow usage in wells with bottomhole temperatures over 400°F (204°C).

Superior Solubility Properties

The only diverter 100 % soluble in both hydrocarbons and water.

Slow Rate of Solubility

Rate of solubility slow, yet rapid enough to allow well clean-up and return to full production in short period of to
time.

Efficient
Effective at concentrations from 0.25 to 2.0 ppg (29.95 to 239.6 kg/m3).

Benefits

Excellent, dependable diversion.

Improves zonal coverage for more successful acid treatments.
Non damaging due to its solubility in water and hydrocarbons.
Economical to use.
Broad range of applications.
