R Bendre and Rabindranath

Tagore at Vishwa Bharati-reg.

Respected Sir,

Apropos subject cited above I wish to bring to your kind notice the decision of the advisory board of the
D R Bendre National Trust, Dharward to hold a two-day National Seminar on D R Bendre and
Ravindranath Tagore in Feb/March 2018 at Vishwa Bharti in collaboration with Vishwa Bharti and Indira
Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak, (Madhya Pradesh).

Brendre National Trust is a Government of Karnataka’s trust started in 1992 to promote the Literature of
D R Bendre, the greatest modern Kannada poet, a contemporary of Ravindranath Tagore and also a
Janapith awardee. D R Bendre, popularly known as Ambikanayadatta,(pen name) is the most popular
poet of his time and his appeal to the modern day reader and scholars and his popularity continues to
grow with passing to each day.

The trust proposes to hold National Seminars/Conferences/Workshop all over India and it also gives
away an annual National award. Gangapodhaya, one of the significant poet of modern Bengali literature
also received this coveted award.

Gurudev and Bendre shared certain common literary and culture traits and they also had certain
common beliefs and commitments. It is in the contexts that the trust proposes to hold a seminar to
explore these common traits at length.

We hope that Vishwa bharati would agree to our proposal and join us in holding the National Seminar. If
agreed we can meet and discuss all other issues including the budget of the seminar. Prof T.V Kattimani,
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of IGNTU has in principle agreed to collaborate with us

With reference to the subject cited above I request you to sanction me one seat to a candidate on
internal candidate in case he qualifies the Personnel interaction to accommodate internal
candidate.

 The Exam Section verified the documents submitted by you. The section also received a
representation from Dr. Sunil Deena regarding the constitution of selection committee. The
following are the instructions observations :
1. Selection of candidates has not been done as per norms.
2. Selection committee has not been constituted as per the circular.

The selection list shall be kept pending and the matter shall be referred to Competent Authority
for suitable direction.
