novel by English writer Agatha Christie, her
best selling novel and described by her as the
most difficult of her books to write. It was first
published in the United Kingdom by the Collins
Crime Club on 6 November 1939, as Ten Little
Niggers, after the British blackface song, which
serves as a major plot point.

• Dame Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie was an English writer born on 15 September
1890. She is known for her 66 detective novels and 14 short story collections.
• Guinness World Records lists Christie as the best-selling novelist of all time. And Then
There Were None is Christie's best-selling novel, with 100 million sales to date, making
it the world's best-selling mystery ever, and one of the best-selling books of all time.
• She died on 12 January 1976 at age 85 from natural causes at her home
Winterbrook House.
