Description
A Wind Turbine is a electrical plant in itself.
Its Maintenance and Operation require a number of expertises:
1. Mechanical;
2. Aerodynamic;
3. Hydraulic;
4. Electricity;
5. Electronics;
6. Information Technology;
7. Most of the maintenance works must be done up in
the nacelle.

Description
The functionalities in the Control Center of a Wind Farm
implements:
1. The Control of the Wind Turbines in the Farm (the actual
production facilities)
2. Taking into account :
1. The maintenance policies for the Wind Turbines and
additional equipment (substation, etc)
2. The relationship with the customers and regulatory
agencies.

Some characteristics
With the Simulator for Wind Turbines the trainees learn:
• Which are the subsystems inside a Wind Turbine
• How is the behaviour of each subsystem
• Effect of each parameter on each subsystem
• Evolution of internal signals
• Messages issued by the Controller upon record of
incidences.
• Troubleshoot a number of common problems (pitch
unadjustment, losses in the hydraulic system, problems in
the yawing system, problems with the anemometer, etc)
