SENIOR CITIZENS

- For the Senior Citizens To be healthy, active and less burdensome to the government
- For the Senior Citizens To have a community or groups that will stimulate a common interest
and keep them learning
- For the Senior Citizens To do a continuous contribution in the society
- For the Senior Citizens (who are dependent) to have a healthy and friendly local home care that
will cater their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs

MISSION (what you do to attain your vision)

- To strengthen the health awareness and recreation program


- To introduce a barangay and municipal senior citizen activities that will cater their interests and
continuous learning
- To involve the Senior Citizens to a productive activity in their barangay or local municipality
- To provide a local facility that will cater the needs of dependent senior citizens that will be
supported by the government and partly of the family or relatives

Goals (bite size)

 By year 2030, sick and bed ridden senior citizens are lessen and more senior citizens are
healthy and active
 By year 2030, more senior citizens are happy and interactive in participating with various
and meaningful activities
 By year 2030, more contributions from senior citizens were achieved
 By year 2030, there were enough local home care facility for dependent senior citizens

GRANT BENEFITS AND SPECIAL PRIVILEGES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES"
2. REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7876 . . AN ACT ESTABLISHING A SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER IN ALL CITIES AND MUNICIPALITIES OF THE PHILIPPINES, AND
APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR.

 By preparing ages 45 to 50 for their old age through having a monthly health evaluation through
their local barangays and presenting them a healthy diet and simple activities to serve as
exercise which are convenient to follow.
 By allotting for each local municipalities places and tools for various activities that will support
the hobby and skills desired by the senior citizens such as but not limited to garden tools, baking
tools, and craft materials. Also, providing or encouraging a capable senior citizen to facilitate the
activity
 By helping the senior citizens in promoting and patronizing their products, projects and other
activities such as crafts, gardens, and Senior Citizens’ day.
 Allocate funds from the government and encourage NGOs to build the facilities; look and hire
for enough care personnel that are skilled and knowledgeable for the common issues and needs
of a dependent senior citizen.

DEFINITIONS

Senior citizens - any resident citizen of the Philippines at least sixty (60) years old;

Active – not bed ridden, involved or capable of any usual physical or mental activities

Dependent – bed ridden or incapable to walk or blind and unable to feed himself

Less burdensome – not a cause of so much financial support and physical assistance

Common interest – hobby or new skills

Contribution – participation in the local progress

Home care – a facility that serves as home for dependent senior citizens and provides healthy
environment and easy access for family and relatives, supported by the government and partly
by the family or relatives.
