Environmental perspectives

The UAE manages its 51% of water resources based on ground water which has become the major

reason of conflicts within the country. The average amount of water consumption within the UAE

has been estimated to be around 500 gallons per day. The argument premise explains to how it is

important to conserve the ground water resources. The major sources of water arise from the

rainfall within several countries around the world. The typical climatic conditions of the UAE have

suppressed this average. This causes the depletion of ground water resources and ensure water

scarcity within the country. In order to manage the environmental perspectives, the UAE

government has to ensure the usage of aquifers and research. This research should be based on

how the water sources can be replenished (Bardsley, 2017). The research will also cover tactics

for ensuring maximum absorption and storage of rain water.

Team Stance on the topic

The team stance on the topic is against the usage of and conservation of ground water on the basis

of pollutions and other contaminants.

The positive aspect of our stance states to how the UAE government should provide water

conservation training instead of focusing on existing sources. This government should also

function towards the desalination of water sources by sea water (Ponce, 2015).

2
The negative aspect in the form of rebuttal can be provided to how the ground water has been

contaminated. This is mainly because of the use of fertilizers and other harmful compounds by

humans.
