 HAZARD IDENTIFICATION STUDY(HAZID)

HAZID is a powerful tool for identifying occupational facility and external hazards. It has become a
prerequisite for most government licensing institutions before any operation can take place in the
country. HAZOP helps identify environmental issues that can cause project delay or expensive designs.
HAZIDS takes into consideration the site infrastructure, weather and other geotechnical data that may
be source of external hazards. To a large extent, it is a means of risk management.

Benefits of HAZID

• Fewer hazards remain unrevealed at commissioning and operation of plant.

• Action responses are audited by management and legislative instructors.
• Hazards are revealed at an early stage in the project before significant costs have been incurred.
• Hazards are recorded and actioned so that they can be avoided, mitigated or highlighted.
