 About the Author
Iris Baijing Hubbard was adopted from Guangzhou, China
when she was about 16 months old. This book was initially
written as part of her capstone project for the honors program
at Western Washington University. She will be graduating with
her bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and a teaching
certificate in the spring of 2019. She is currently working on a
novella for older readers and hopes to publish it in the upcom-
ing year. In her free time, Iris enjoys swimming, baking and
traveling.

About the Illustrator

Elisabeth Keri Minor is a Tacoma based artist and illustra-
tor. She enjoys painting and drawing nature and hanging
out with her cat princess.
