Instructions: This spreadsheet will determine the required resolution in a given axis to resolve a giv

Be sure to use the same axis in the calculations (i.e do not mix X & Y values)

Nomenclature
Rs Spatial resolution in either x or y
FOV Field of View dimensions (mm) in either X or Y
Ri Image Sensor resolution; number of pixels in a row in either x or y.
Rf Feature resolution which is the smallest feature that must be reliably resolved in physical units (mm)
Fp Desired # of pixels that will span across the feature of minimum size.

Enter Values (mm) - examples currently loaded

FOV 40 mm

Rf 0.25 mm < - Enter Values in green for FOV

Fp 4 pixels

Results
Rs - Spatial resolution required which is the physical measurement a pixel represents 0.0625
Ri - Required resolution in the given axis 640
