CAUTION

Contact with hot vehicle parts may result in burns.
Contact with hot transmission oil can lead to scalding.
 Wear suitable protective clothing, protective gloves, and safety goggles or face protection.

Process requirements

Limp home mode must not be activated. Vehicle stands horizontally on the lifting Testing device for reading off
Electrical consumers, lighting, and air platform, "P" is engaged, and parking transmission temperature and
conditioner are switched off. brake is engaged engine speed is connected

Checking transmission oil level Filling with new transmission oil

Unscrew oil fill screw plug
Start engine

Check transmission temperature Note 1


Fill transmission oil until oil runs out
(for temperature, see Note 1) If temperature > 50°C, let vehicle
cool down!
If temperature < 30°C, engage "P"
Engage "P", let engine run at 2 000 rpm and let vehicle warm up at idling
Start the engine
for 30 seconds speed

Let the engine run at idling speed Note 2


Fill transmission oil until oil runs out
(for temperature, see Note 1) Transmission oil specification and
specified target volume according
to MPL
Check idling speed and correct if
necessary (vehicle-specific) Vehicle has divided
No
oil cooler circulation?
Yes
Engage P, R, D in sequence (then D1
and D2 manually), hold in each position
for at least 10 seconds
Overfill approx. 0.5 l and immediately
close with oil fill screw plug

(Only for check)


Unscrew oil fill screw plug
Run vehicle until valve opens

No Oil leak? Yes


Let vehicle cool down
Fill until oil runs (T < 50°C)
OK
out

With engine running, let oil run out until


oil trickle breaks off
(for temperature, see Note 1)

Screw in oil fill screw plug

Check transmission for


leakages!
