2. Identify the various types of contrived experience
3. To appreciate the use of contrived experience in the classroom

Types of contrived experience


1. Models- Reproduction of real thing in a
small scale but made by synthetic
materials.
2. Mock-up- An arrangement of a real
device or associated devices displayed in
such a way that presentation of reality is
created.
3. Specimen- An example of something such
as a product or piece of work, regarded as
typical of its class or group.
4. Object- May also include artifacts displayed
in museum or objects displayed in exhibits
or preserved insect specimen in science.
5. Stimulation- Is a representation of a
manageable real event in which the learner
is an active participant engage in learning a
behaviour or in applying previously
acquired skills or knowledge
6. Game- Are played to win.
-Why do we use contrived experience in
teaching learning process?
1. To overcome limitations of space and
time.
2. To “edit” reality for us to be able to focus
on parts or a process of a system that we
intend to study.
3. To overcome difficulties.
4. To understand inaccessible.
5. Help the learner understand the
abstractions.
