Reliability
Reliability is used to qualitatively define and quantitatively predict the baseline reliability of
each piece of equipment. Reliability is a measure of the likelihood that a piece of equipment will
operate without failure/breakdown for a stated period of time (time t) under specific working
conditions.
Reliability is a probability. It is the measure of likelihood or level of certainty. Therefore,
reliability is always between 0 and 1. The most common definition of equipment reliability is the
relative frequency of breakdowns. The reliability of a piece of equipment at time t, denoted as
R(t), is the probability the equipment will not break down before time t given a set of defined
conditions.

Reliability = = 0.9996

Base from the data above, it only shows that the equipment will function to its full capacity
99.96% of the time.

Maintainability represents the ease and cost of performing the maintenance necessary to maintain a
piece of equipment. Maintainability is most commonly measured by mean time to repair (MTTR), which
is used for repairable items. MTTR is the average time that is required to repair a failed piece of
equipment. MTTR is the total downtime for repairs divided by the number of repairs during a given
period of time.

MTTR = 2950

= 196.67 Minutes/Repair

The above data shows the average time for the equipment to be fixed/repair. Base from the given data,
the average time to Repair is 196.67 minutes/repair which can be interpreted as if a certain equipment
fails, the average time that the equipment can be repair is 196.67 minutes. This includes time waiting for
the necessary parts for repairs, time spent performing the repairs, and time spent testing and validating
the equipment prior to full , normal operation
