FOREWORD
YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. The flight crew is required to use
this checklist when operating the airplane.
HOW TO BE ASSURED OF HAVING LATEST DATA. Refer
to SATODS for the latest updates.
TECHNICAL ORDER NUMBER. This checklist is identified
by a CSTO number that is identical to the applicable Flight
Manual with the addition of the letters “CL” (checklist) and a
suffix number indicating the crew member to which it applies.
CONTENTS. This checklist consists of three parts: normal
procedures, performance data, and emergency and abnormal
procedures. The numbered items (line items) correspond to
identically numbered items in the amplified procedures in
Sections II of the Flight Manual. Emergency and abnormal
procedures are identified by a black striped border.
FLIGHT MANUAL. This checklist does not replace the
amplified version of the procedures in the Flight Manual. To fly
the airplane safely and efficiently, you must read and thoroughly
understand why each step is performed and why it occurs in a
certain sequence.
CONCURRENCY. As changes are made to the amplified
checklist in the Flight Manual, concurrent changes will be made
to this checklist so that both will agree. However, a change to the
Flight Manual may not affect the amplified procedures.
Therefore, the Flight Manual date may not be the same as the
checklist date. For purposes of determining the concurrency
between the Flight Manual and this checklist, the latest date of a
Safety Supplement or Operational Supplement affecting this
checklist will be considered to represent the latest change date of
the Flight Manual.
i
CSTO XX1C-130H-1CL-4
SUPPLEMENTS. Whenever you receive a supplement affecting
your checklist, write in the appropriate information. Printed
replacement checklist pages will be made available to you as
quickly as possible. A notation on the bottom inside corner of
these pages will indicate that they reflect certain Safety or
Operational Supplements. Note that there is no action in the
checklist program that constitutes authority for discarding a
Safety or Operational Supplement. Such action is authorized
only through the title page of the Flight Manual, or another
supplement.
CHANGES AND REVISIONS. Whenever you receive a normal
change or revision to your checklist, check to ascertain that it
reflects all outstanding Safety Supplements or Operational
Supplements that affect the checklist. If it does not, add in the
required information by hand (sometimes you will be able to
accomplish this end simply by retaining the change page which
references the outstanding supplement).
BINDERS. Binders containing plastic envelopes to hold and
protect the checklist pages should be available through normal
supply channels.
COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS. Any comments and
questions should be directed through your Command
Headquarters to 417 SCMS, Robins AFB, GA USA.

BRIEFINGS
DEPARTURE BRIEFING

1. May I have your attention please. Welcome aboard

flight _______. The flying time to ______ is ___ hour(s)
and _______ minutes.

2. Flying with head colds can result in extreme discomfort

and injury to ears. Unpressurized flight such as this one
can aggravate the situation.

3. If you feel a need to disembark because of a cold, please

raise your hand at this time.

4. Current regulations prohibit smoking, access to checked

baggage, and use of most portable electronic devices
during flight. Please check with a crewmember prior to
operating any electronic devices.

N-13
CSTO XX1C-130H-1CL-4

5. We will offer disposable ear plugs, and we recommend

they be used for your comfort and protection. Passen-
gers experiencing any ear discomfort or any other prob-
lems should immediately inform a crewmember.

6. Emergency exits are outlined in yellow (indicate loca-

tion). Please familiarize yourself with the nearest exit.
(Assign exits when required.)

7. Because our routing takes us over water, the donning of

the lifevest will be demonstrated. (A crewmember will
demonstrate donning of lifevest.) (Brief location of life-
vests.)

8. When required, demonstrate use of supplemental pas-

senger oxygen. Remind adults to don their masks first
and then assist children or others requiring assistance.

9. Latrine facilities are located in the aft cargo compart-

ment adjacent to the ramp area. You are requested not to
dispose of any waste material other than tissue in the aft
toilet. (If a comfort pallet or portable lavatory is aboard,
brief their use and location.)

10. At this time, ensure your seat belt is securely fastened,

and remain seated until you are advised that it is safe to
move around. If you should have any questions during
the flight, don’t hesitate to ask.
