This article is about a software called SOLIDWORKS which is widely used in the aeronautical industry.
SOLIDWORKS is a 3D CAD design software for modeling 3D parts and assemblies and 2D drawings.
The software that offers a range of solutions to cover the aspects involved in the product
development process. Its products offer the possibility to create, design, simulate, manufacture,
publish and manage the data of the design process.

This article is focus in the applications

that Solidworks software has in
aeronautics. SolidWorks is computer-
aided engineering (CAE) computer
program that runs on Microsoft
Windows. SolidWorks is published by
Dassault Systèmes. The importance of
solidworks in the aeronautical industry is
such that according to the publisher, over
two million engineers and designers at
more than 165,000 companies were
using SolidWorks as of 2013.

Many times in the aeronautical industry it is

required to test manufacturing processes and that
means spending a lot of money, with solidworks
companies can save a lot of money since in this
program you can simulate all these manufacturing
processes obtaining the same results as if were
really made.

In conclusion solidworks is a design and simulation program that is very helpful in the aeronautic
industry since many parts and processes of aircraft can be designed or simulated
