Notes: An interesting selection of sightings from today. A Bar Headed Goose has returned but I am
unsure as to whether it is indeed the same individual or just another escapee (probably the latter,
considering the time between sightings). The Gadwall sighting is also a first for me at Shobrooke.

Notes: Mule Duck was on first of the main fishponds on Rennes Drive, resembled a female mallard

3 Canada Geese
1 Great Crested Grebe
4 Dabchick (2 adults, 2 chicks)
1 Black Headed Gull

Notes: Dabchicks teaching their young to swim today – very entertaining to watch. The Mallard
numbers appear to have increased a little.

Sandford CP – 18.6.17

Birds:

22 House Martins

Notes: All of these individuals were sunbathing on Fanny’s Lane on the hot tarmack, bizarre
behaviour I’ve never seen before from these birds. They all flew off as I approached, and I presume
