As a senior Executive worked on offshore SCB data center transition project, was responsible for
smooth transition of SCB data center from ATOS Origin, Singapore to ATOS Origin, Hong Kong.
The data center consists of P650 series of RS6000 servers and configured on LPARS and
DLPAR.
The Data center of SCB was spread across Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. It was need for
SCB to consolidate these data center into one in Hong Kong. I was selected for Singapore SCB
data center migration.

As a senior executive I was leading the technical team of UNIX administrators, responsibilities
were –

 Guide the team of technical staff in Singapore and Hong Kong for transition within
projected time.
 Follow-up with vendors for third party software compatibility higher version of AIX.
 Involved in build, testing and verification of new environment before actual cutover
 Smooth transition and smooth functioning of applications in the new data center after the
actual cutover.
 Providing continuous technical support.
 Technical support and maintenance of clustered environment (HACMP)
 Managing LPARS remotely using HMC CLI and GUI.
 Providing technical solutions to the customer

After the successful cutover of Singapore and Malaysia systems, we were providing remote
technical support for the SCB systems from our India office, within ITIL guidelines.
I was also responsible for guiding and mentoring team trainee AIX system administrator for a
North America client.

Software Engineer
IBM Global Services, India
The first venture of my life started with IBM. I was selected in a campus interview to work with an
IBM client as a support executive on AIX platform. The campus interview was held at NIIT.

I was placed at Venture Infotek, which is the only third-party processor in the South-East Asia
certified by VISA International and MasterCard International involved in credit/smart card
operations for various Indian Companies and Nationalized Banks.

As Technical Executive, my responsibilities were –

 Troubleshooting system/network related issues within SLA framework.


 Configuration and administration of AIX servers, Network devices involving CISCO
routers, X.25 switches.
 Configuration and administration of LAN/WAN.
 Maintenance and administration of transaction processing application.
 HACMP Maintenance and administration.
 Backup/Restoration of the production system files/database/application by responding to
any requests from the customer.
 Shell scripting for various production related requirement.

The much appreciated work I completed at Venture Infotek as a fresher was –

 Guided team for system migration of AIX systems from J40 to F50 series of RS6000,
within stipulated time. Also picked up some managing skills as I guided the team.
 Installed and configure x.25 network card for credit card application running on AIX,
RS6000 F50 servers.
 Successful installation and configuration of IBM eNetwork Firewall on 43P RS6000.

Looking at my performance and fast learning ability IBM in May 2003 offered me Data Centre
Team Lead position on J P MORGAN project. IBM has tie up with J P Morgan for its operations in
India and in ASIAPAC. As the Data centre lead, I was responsible for smooth functioning of
various servers, backups, offsite backup storage, and system and access security.

As a Data Centre Team Lead, I introduced various policies which were not in place prior to my
take over. Few of the policies were –

 Access register.
 New server deployment policies.
 Regular checks of various data centers.
 Rack installation policy.

IBM has again given me a breakthrough in December 2003 in their prestigious development
center, India Software Labs (ISL) Gurgaon. My role was System and database administrator,
guiding a team of JAVA programmers for coding, testing and providing them the require
environment for their coding and testing. The Change Management and Version Control (CMVC)
project was transferred from IBM US.CMVC an IBM way which keeps tracks of different versions
of a file. In short it was software for software repository. The CMVC software is developed using
IBM JAVA technology and is available on different platform of UNIX (includes SuSE, AIX , Red
Hat) interacting with DB2 UDB in backend.
