What is same-sex marriage?

Same-sex marriage, also known as gay

marriage, is marriage between people of the
same sex, either as a secular civil ceremony
or in a religious setting. Same-sex unions are
recorded in the history of a number
of cultures, but marriage or similarly
formalized same-sex unions were rare or
nonexistent in other cultures.
Several countries revising their marriage laws
to recognize same-sex couples in the 21st
century, all major English dictionaries have
revised their definition of the word
marriage to either drop gender specifications
or supplement them with secondary
definitions to include gender-neutral
language or explicit recognition of same-sex
unions. The Oxford English Dictionary has
recognized same-sex marriage
since 2000.

has steadily been gaining greater
visibility in the news and information
media. LGBT people working in fashion
and arts are often given some measure
of tolerance, especially if they are
successful. The Philippines does not
offer any legal recognition to same-sex
marriage, civil unions or domestic
partnership benefits.
What must be considered?

Each and every one of us

have our own freewill. We
can do whatever we want
but not everything is
beneficial
Strengths:
- It doesn't hurt society or
anyone in particular
- The only thing that
should matter in
marriage is love
Weaknesses:
- Most religions consider homosexuality
a sin
- It would further weaken the traditional
family values essential to our society
- It confuses children about gender roles
and expectations of society, and only a
man & woman can pro-create
Opportunities:
- Access to Equal Benefits
- The number of child
adoptions should increase
since gay couples cannot
pro-create
Threats
- It could provide a slippery slope in the
legality of marriage (e.g. having multiple
wives or marrying an animal could be
next)
- It can bring huge financial and
emotional stress
- The health risks are enormous to
themselves and others
Threats
- Gay Marriage means having
the morals of the minority
forced upon the majority
- Gay Marriage affects people
spiritually
Recommended solutions:

- Gender orientation of a child

- Homosexuality is accepted
but the same-sex marriage
must be banned
- We must hold on to our faith
