A noun is a person, place, thing,or idea
Nouns are the subject of a sentence.
Types of Nouns:
a. Common nouns
Common noun a that does not name a specific person, place or thing.
Example: Dog
b. Proper nouns
Proper nouns a that names specific person,place or thing.
Example: New York City
2. Verb
A verb is the action of the sentence. It shows what someone or something is doing.
Example: Run , Paint, Read.
Is” is a helping verb.
5K is a type of race which means it is a noun.
Running is the verb. It tells what Erin is doing in the sentence.
3. Adjective
An adjective is a word that describes a noun or pronoun. It tells what kind,
how many, or which one.
Example: a. Black hair
b. Blue jeans
Adjective- is a word that describes a noun or pronoun. It tells what kind, how
many, or which one.
4. Adverb
An adverb describes how the action is performed. They tell how much, how
often, when and where something is done.
Example: The man sat alone.
5. Pronoun
A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun.
Examples: I, me, my, you, your, he, she, it , us, we, they, them, his, her,
their, mine.
Awesome! I is the pronoun because it takes the place of a noun. I replaces
someone more specific like girl, boy, Bob, or Mrs. Ryan.
6. Interjection
Interjection- An interjection is a word that shows strong emotion. Such
examples are Wow!, Ouch!, Hurray!, and Oh no!
Interjections can really liven up a sentence. They help to add voice to your
writing.
Example: wow!, ouch!
7. Preposition
A preposition is a word that shows position or, direction. Some examples are
in, out, under, over, after, out, into, up, down, for, and between
Example: She worked at her desk.
8. Conjunction
A conjunction is a word that joins words or word groups together. Some
examples conjunctions are: and, but, or, nor, although, yet, so, either, and also.
Example: We ate pizza and drank pop for dinner.

1. Passive voice
- Active: S+V+O
- Passive: S + Be + PP(V3ed) + by + O
(tense)
Example:
a. My father planted this tree last year.
b. This tree was planted by my father last year.
A. The Simple Present Tense
- Active: S + V(s/es) + O
- Passive: S + am/is/are + PP + by + O
Example:
a. He reads books every day.
b. Books are read (by him) every day.
B. The Present Continuous Tense
- Active: S + am/is/are + V-ing + O
- Passive: S + am/is/are + being +PP + by + O
Example :
a. He is writing a novel at the moment.
b. A novel is being written (by him) at the moment.
C. The Present Perfect Tense
- Active: S + Has/Have + V3ed + O
- Passive: S + has/have + been +PP + by + O
Example:
a. He has just finished a novel.
b. A novel has just been finished (by him).
D. The Simple Past Tense
- Active: S + V2ed + O
- Passive: S + was/were + PP + by + O
Example:
a. He gave Tom a book.
b. A book was given to Tom.
c. Tom was given a book.
E. The Past Continuous Tense
- Active: S + was/were + V-ing + O
- Passive: S + was/were + being + PP + by + O
Example:
a. He was writing a letter at 8.00 yesterday.
b. A letter was being written.
F. The Past Perfect Tense
- Active: S + had + V3ed + O
- Passive: S + had + been + PP + by + O

Adalah suatu kata yang dibentuk dari verb dengan ditambah –ing dan
berfungsi sebagai noun.
Example.;swimming, walking,playing,building.
2. Conditional centence
Conditional Sentence (Kalimat pengandaian)
A. Possible (sesuatu yang masih bisa terjadi)
- Rumus: if + simple present+ will+ verb 1
- Example: I will come to Ani’s party tomorrow, if I have time.
B. Imaginary (angan – angan)
- Rumus: if + past tense +would + verb 1
- Example: if I married Anna, I would be very happy.
- Fact: I don’t marry Anna, so I’m not very happy.
C. Impossible ( berlawanan dengan kejadian masa lampau)
- Rumus: if + past perfect, would have + verb 3
- Example: if the weather had been fine yesterday, we would have gone for a
swim.
- Facta: the weather was bad yesterday.
