Petroleum Exploration (Pvt) Ltd (PEL), a private sector oil & gas exploration and production Company
operating in onshore and offshore areas, nationally and internationally, has recently made a
signicant discovery of hydrocarbons in its Badin IV North, Block 2468-6. The well named Zainab-1
was spud-in on June 03, 2017 and reached the target depth of 2700 meters on June 28, 2017. It was
a discovery that owed 24 MMSCFD good quality gas and 765 BPD condensate. This is the fourth
discovery in a row made by the Company and will save substantial foreign exchange by import
substitution. Brief statistics of new discoveries and other producing assets of the Company are as

PEL is actively engaged in oil & gas exploration in its petroleum concession areas, which include 6
development & production/mining leases, 9 onshore, one offshore and 3 overseas exploration
blocks. PEL's overseas blocks are located in the Kingdom of Morocco where it is exploring
hydrocarbons in joint venture with Moroccan state oil company ONHYM. The Company has recently
drilled an exploratory well in Haha Centre Block in Morocco and is presently in the process of drilling
the second and the deepest exploratory well in the same block. PEL is the rst private sector Pakistani
E&P Company that is venturing in the capital intensive offshore exploration in Indus offshore J-Block
located in the deep waters of Pakistan in the Arabian Sea.
The Company attributed its recent successes to the team spirit and hard work of its technical and
managerial staff. The support of its JV partners and energy friendly policies of Ministry of Petroleum
and Natural Resources, Government of Pakistan have also been the major contributory factors in
PEL's success.
Mr. Zaheeruddin, Chairman & Chief Executive of PEL conrmed that PEL’s drilling campaign will
continue unabated. He reiterated his commitment to drill a number of exploratory and development
wells in the coming years. The Company's Chairman said that by the Grace of Almighty Allah, his
efforts towards the development of hydrocarbon potential of Pakistan would continue.
