 What is internship in OHS ?
• The internship is a mandatory part of the
undergraduate curriculum in the Department
of Occupational Health, Safety & Environment.
• The students spend the final semester of their
academic career, working (as interns) in an
organization (company/institution) under the
supervision of a safety or environmental
professional or the Site Supervisor.
What is exactly we do as interns ?
• Hands on experiences by conducted practice
on HSE fields (depend on indutry, so depends)
• Interns are required to keep a daily log of their
activities (per day)
• Prepare a ‘portfolio/report’ of major
accomplishments during the internship
• Attending seminar as sharing experiences
both in company/institution and in campus
What’s preparation should be do ?
Completed your resume, last transcript of
Proposal interns, and photos

Some companies provide a budget for

interns through by meal box or cash.
Budget Neverthless, you have prepare to deposit
for spare (accomodation & consumption)

So depends, every company has their own

PPE regulation about PPE. Some provide, then
others no.

Knowladge / Prepare your mental, first. Then searching

Mental anything about your company/institution
before take a part.
 How are the internist placed ?
• In my experiences (my era at 2014), we were
placed by ourself, directly call out the
companies/insitutions. We looking for any
companies and sent proposal submission.
• Besides, you have to call the academic for
further and newest regulation about this
(cause I heard, many progress new regulation
in FKM)
• When you ready to placed, we are go !

like what !
• Overdose of question, no matter ! Ask your supervisor
many things (but make sure, they’ve enough time in
right moment)
• Be active, not pasive !
• Every company has a good and bad deed but don’t
worry, don’t get a ‘BAPER’, be relax and happy.
• Your internship experience will decribe how pretty
stupid we are, and how tiniest we compare to Allah
SWT.
