Sub: Safety Audit during design construction and commissioning of Bridges.
Sir,
ns on the safety of bridges and other
is is to strongly reiterate the exi
structures. Kind attention is also drawn to the relevant IRC norms. It is suggested that an
immediate safety review of all ongoing bridge projects be undertaken. All the contractors,
concessionaires and site engineers may be advised to ensure highest safety measures and
quality of construction,
2. Further, it is felt that third party safety audit should be an integral part of all Bridge
projects (stand alone/part of project) with a span of 15 (fifteen) meter or more. The
contractors/concessionaires should submit the Bridge design for review of authority engineer
after getting the third party independent design audit from reputed engineering institutions
like ITS/NITs. a span of 15 (Fifteen)
meter or more pre-commissioning test should be done by engaging reputed engineering
larly, before commissioning of the bridges
Mstitutions like IITs! NITS in addition to the tests to be carried out by the Authority
Engineers.
3. In order to ensure the above, amendments in the EPC Agreement should be done as
per the amendments enclosed at Annexure-l
