Dear reader,
A B
My name is Jane. I’m a physics teacher at Richmond secondary school. The thing I remember
most about my early life was when I started going to school at the age of five. One day, my
El Barmaki prep scool 9th form Mrs. Olfa Baccar
mother woke me up very early in the morning. She helped me get washed and dressed. I felt
very excited to go to school. « Don’t worry », said my mother.
When we reached school, I wanted to run away but I knew I couldn’t. I found myself
with a small group of children and we went off with a strange woman. She didn’t look nice.
She had a red hair and was quite short and fat. Her eyes were horrible. She was our Maths
teacher, they told me. She took us into a classroom. She pointed at each pupil and asked him
to stand up and introduce himself. When she finally spoke to me, I couldn’t say my name,
because I was frightened. Everyone was looking at me. While I was searching for words, a
pretty woman came in and spoke softly to us. She said that she was our physical education
teacher. She invited us to the playground. She was the teacher I liked most.
