Introduction
Humans in their lives always try to fulfill their needs in various ways, one of which is to make entrepreneurs. This
entrepreneurship can divide into several types, namely micro, small and medium (MSME). Micro-businesses are the
subject of problems in this project. There are some problems in a micro business such as limitations regarding
increasing quality and the amount of production. By looking at this aspect, one example of micro businesses in the
community has taken home-based businesses producing cassava chips. Where the results of cassava chips are still thick,
and there is oil that must drain. Work done is still manual and slow; therefore we provide solutions to entrepreneurs an
appropriate tool that is cassava slicing machines and oil-cutting machines (spinner).
Cassava chips are one of the types of snacks that are in the public interest. So this is a market object that is quite
promising by entrepreneurs. However, they must compete in quality and taste. If all this time the work is done manually,
which is the solution to the problem of the micro business is needed.

Methods
Based on the things above, then make a solution to overcome the problems faced by partners through library studies,
conducting surveys, providing spinner machines and training and maintenance of machines to increase the productivity
of providing quality fried produce. In general, this solution can consist of several stages:
Survey to partner locations in farmer groups in Simalungun. This survey is the initial stage of the activity wherein this
activity aims to see first hand the problems faced. This survey stage is crucial to do to get the right solution to the
existing problems.

Pre-questionnaire, this activity is carried out to see how far partners understand how vital the operation and
maintenance of the machine is.
Spinner machine preparation, this stage consists of several parts including the design of tools that suit the needs of
partners, this needs to carry out so that the appropriate equipment specifications.
Application of equipment and process analysis, this stage is done at the partner's place, this stage demonstrates the use
of spinner machines to partners so that the results of the direct analysis are seen to increase the efficiency of the use of
the machine to the production process.
Counseling to partners, this extension activity is significant to be carried out as part of community service. This extension
is done to transfer technology to partners regarding the use and maintenance of the machines provided.
Post questionnaire, the questionnaire activity at the end of the devotion activity aims to measure whether the problem
faced by the partner resolve and to see the increase in the benefits of the machine.
Scientific publication, the publication is the final activity of all stages in the activity which will be made in scientific
writing and published to national scientific journals.

Results and Discussion

The following facts can prove the achievement of results and outcomes achieved from the community service of the
university to partners:

The efficiency of partner work time regarding providing production results

Increasing partner productivity in serving fried products. The increased insight of partner community regarding
production presentation by using a machine.
Become a motivation for partner communities to turn on business groups in their regions.
The partner can operate the machine and be able to carry out engine maintenance.
Driving Motors
Cassava slicing machines and spinner machines, both using a Phase 1 power motor ¼ HP. This motor serves as the
primary drive, where the power released by the engine can drive the entire main component according to the function
of each component. The shape of the motor showed in the figure below:

Figure 1.Motor
Bearing
The bearing is an integral part of an engine construction where the bearing will support the axle that is burdened both
radially and axially, besides that the bearing will provide a relative position free to the shaft to spin. Selection of bearings
based on the size of the shaft used on the spinner machine. The shaft used is a type of ball bearing, this type of bearing
has the characteristics of being able to serve high rotation with relatively large loads. The number of pads used is two
pieces with high quality. The image of the bearing is listed below:

A Capacity of cassava slicing machine
Machine dimensions : 650 mm x 500 mm x 600 mm.
Energy Used: Electricity.
Activator: Electro Motor.
Electric Voltage : 220 V (1 Phase).
Electricity Frequency : 50 Hz / 60 Hz.
Power (Power): 1/4 HP.
Capacity : 70 Kg - 80 Kg / hour.
Machine Frame: Iron plot hollo.
Material Contact Product: Stainless Steel Anti Rust.
System: Centrifuge

Figure 6. Cassava slicing machine

Use of cassava slicing machine is a tool or machine that has been widely used by culinary entrepreneurs, including
business fruit chips, cassava chips, snacks or snacks, vegetable chips, and other processed foods through the frying
process. Therefore, by using a cassava slicing machine, the results of the slices are evenly distributed and equally thick
so that they are crispy when served.

Oil cutting machine specifications

dimensions : 550 mm x 400 mm x 600 mm.

Energy Used: Electricity.
Activator: Electro Motor.
Electric Voltage : 220 V (1 Phase).
Electricity Frequency : 50 Hz / 60 Hz.
Power (Power): 1/4 HP.
Capacity : 4 Kg - 5 Kg / Process.
Machine Frame: Iron Elbow / Stainless Steel Anti Rust.
Contact Material Materials Product: Stainless Steel Anti Rust.
System: Centrifuge

Figure 7. Oil-cutting machine

Use of oil cutting machine Cassava slicing machine is a device or machine that has been widely used by culinary
entrepreneurs, including fruit chips, cassava chips, snacks or snacks, vegetable chips, and other processed foods through
the frying process. Therefore, using an oil-slicing machine, the results of the frying pan will be protected from oil and
crispy, of course.
Conclusion
The results of community service activities that have been carried out from the first week of September as follows: the
progress of community service activities has reached 90% as planned.
Spinner equipment or machine is an effort to improve the mechanism for providing quality fried foods.
Equipment operation training for partners has been carried out.
Installation of the service plank will be carried out.
The initial questionnaire completed.

The next stage: The next

activity is SOP training for the operation and maintenance of production machines will be carried out, and the final
evaluation of activities will be carried out and reported in the final report of this community service activity.
