members, participants and volunteers. It has been our pleasure to organize the
5 day short term course on “optimization and control design techniques:
innovations and challenges – OCDT 2018” which started on 10 Jan 2019 at
Department of Instrumentation and Control Engg., Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National
Institute of Technology, Jalandhar. At the onset, I express my sincere gratitude
to Prof. L.K. Awasthi, Director NIT Jalandhar for his inspiring mentorship. I am
thankful to NIT Jalandhar administration for supporting us to organize this
event. I am very thankful to the sponsor of this course, TEQIP-3. Without their
generous financial support, it would not have been possible to organize this
short term course. I am sure that Department of Instrumentation and Control
Engineering will continue to get generous support from various organisations in
future also. I am thankful to all the participants and faculty members who came
from Mentee Institute Government Women Engineering College, Ajmer,
Rajasthan to attend this course. We have been fortunate to have some of the
eminent persons from IIT Roorkee, IIT Delhi, NIT Delhi and NIT Hamirpur who
shared their valuable knowledge with us. I am sure that participants would have
benefited by this course. I sincerely thank all the speakers and the delegates for
their enthusiastic participation in this short term course. I acknowledge the
unwavering support received from the HOD, the faculties and the staff
members. I am also thankful to all the research scholars and M.Tech students
who have greatly helped in organizing this event. Finally, I would like to thank
the organizing committee for their emotional support and for sacrificing their
enjoyable weekend.
