Bimetal dial thermometer 1000 page 1.0
The measuring principle
The temperature measuring is made through a bimetal spring
built-in the temperature feeler. The coiled spring consists of two
firmly fixed metals with different coefficient of expansion.
A change in temperature leads to a torsion of the bimetal coiled
spring, the pointer axis, and pointer.
See ill.1 the bimetal measuring system is artificially aged
In a special process to ensure a proper measuring reaction for a
long time.
Technical recommendations
Measuring points should be free of any vibration or shocks.
The measuring ranges are 100% limit load.
(One exception is in the range 0+500°C.
The max. continuous temperature allowed is 450°C).
Mounting instruction
Fitting the feeler into a pipe a suitable position with respect to the
medium flow should be selected for the feeler, see ill. 2-4.
Thermometers have to be installed with suitable tools.
Executions
Case:
NG 33 and NG 50 rim-ring-case stainless steel 1.4301.
NG 63 - NG 160.
Standard execution: case steel galvanized, ring steel galvanized.
Industrial execution: case, ring stainless steel 1.4301.
Cover windows:
NG 33, polycarbonate ≤ 160°C or float glass.
NG 50, polycarbonate ≤ 160°C or float glass.
NG 63, polystyrole ≤ 120°C or float glass.
NG 160, float glass or polycarbonate ≤ 160°C.
Dial:
Aluminium natural or white varnished, black printed,
declination angle 270°.
Pointer: black aluminium.
Axis bearing: for perfectly smooth running.
Feeler: (recommend)
∅ 4 -0,1 mm up to max. length 300 mm.
∅ 10 mm up to max. length 1200 mm.
Feeler material:
stainless steel 1.4301 for ∅ 4 mm.
brass, steel or stainless steel 1.4571 for ∅ 6-10 mm.
Protective sleeve:
see structure group 40.
Special materials:
are available, for example hastelloy, inconel, titan, special brass,
surface coating possible.
